Two boats in our fleet have already sunk, we’ve were contacted by the Peruvian coast guard to rescue the occupant of one of them, my PLB was accidentally tripped, our watermaker has broken, we were almost hit by a cargo ship at night, we broke our downwind sail, I mistook a piece of space junk burning up in the lower atmosphere for a distress parachute flare, and now we have no wind. Why am I loving this so much?
If we weren’t about to run out of water I wouldn’t even care about reaching land.

Hello Friends!
A friend and I want to take my little Thistle out on a two or three day camping trip, sailing along the coast or the ICW, pulling up onto the beach to camp overnight. We're just having trouble figuring out where we can actually camp on or near the beach for this trip. Have any of you done this? Do you have any suggestions? I think our travel range will be something like Massachusetts to South Carolina.
Edit: Travel range means where we will drive to to launch, not that we'll try to sail from Massachusetts to South Carolina in three days. Haha.

My kids gave me VIP passes for Friday as a Christmas present. Taking the gf and planning on staying in town Thursday/Friday nights. Don't have anything particular that I'll be keeping an eye out for, won't have my boat in the water for the first time until the following Friday. If anything, will be looking for things to add for early 2025.

Hi all- I recently joined my first race team and I'm loving it-with the exception of my hands. I have Raynaud's It's a condition where your hands and feet can't tolerate the cold. They turn all blue and white and will eventually start to go completely numb if the exposure to the cold is prolonged. It's not usually too big of a deal for me, but it is starting to become a problem during a race. By the end of it, my hands are so numb I can't hold on to a line. Are there any suggestions for a good glove that is waterproof, offers some insulation without being overly bulky? I appreciate any tips y ..read more

The website I used to buy went out of business apparently.
I have a small racing cruiser, and I'm looking for new halyard ropes and sheets, any recommendations?

Here's something a little different that might interest people of this community. My seafaring, super cool uncle passed away last year and left me his book collection. He was a big fan of a genre called "nautical fiction", resulting in me now being in charge of two boxes of stories I now accept I will never read, myself being more of a fresh water sailor with a penchant for science fiction. Authors include Jack London, Patrick O'Brian, Dudley Pope, Alexander Kent and C.S Forrester amongst others; all books are in good condition.
None of the titles have high market value, so selling them is no ..read more

I am sailing BVI in a few weeks. I have always just showed up at the ferry terminal and purchased my ticket there. I haven't gone since COVID and see there are a lot less choices now. Do people now recommend pre-booking their tickets or do you just show up?
Thanks!
