Coping during the quarantine
The school year ended with William and Juliet advancing into the 4th grade with glowing remarks from their teacher.
However, I found myself hoping to hopefully never teach my children again.
In terms of my art, I found myself water coloring my neighbor’s cows and horses and worked on two relief sculptures.
The sculptures are a result of the dark waters we resided in during quarantine and the riots that ensued after the death of George Floyd.

I have had the chance to reflect and observe, and from that, I have produced two bronze sculptures and drawings of horses and cows that I can see becoming a series of sculptures.
I have also been able to teach, and I must confess to being guided by my two nine-year-olds. Who knew this virus would have me reviewing my time tables and breaking down sentence structures, but it is a strange time.

The Japanese art of repairing broken pottery, Kintsugi, honors the breakage and repair of the vessel, which in turn presents the work whole and beautiful, rather than something to discard. My focus is to create personal emancipation and ..read more
