Dexter whilst at HCC Dexter was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism in March 2018  by my local vet . He had the highest level’s they had seen to date at the practice. Now, probably like all of you who will read this – Dexter is my baby, we rescued him when he was 2 and he has been with us for 10 years since. He had changed significantly, lost a lot of weight, increased heartbeat and had become very erratic. The vet offered me two options – Thyroidectomy or the Radio-iodine treatment . Oscar was found sitting lost in the snow outside a factory in Gateshead at the start of March 2018. Oscar Pre RIT He was taken to a vet who recommended that he was put to sleep as he had kidney failure but another friend recognised that he was possibly Hyperthyroid and a second vet confirmed this. After a successful online funding appeal, enough money was raised for Oscar’s treatment at The Hyperthyroid Cat Centre so, together with Herbie (Oscar’s cat friend!) he travelled to HCC for treatment. Hello! Hyperthyroid Holly Here! Well, I should say I used to be hyperthyroid Holly. The words tumble so nicely off the tongue and impress all the neighbourhood cats, so I still use it – even though I am now all cured and well again after radio-iodine treatment at The Hyperthyroid Cat Centre.
