It looks as though this year may be the last reunion unless we can round up a few more survivors. Last year there were 31 with 9 OHs. Age range from 92 to 75. At a very rough estimate maybe 500-600 students and instructors must have passed through. They must be a tough lot to have survived the wartime huts and the Northumberland weather so I hope there are quite a few of you still around. This year it will be on 23rd October in the RAF Club. Sudanese, Iraqi and Kuwaiti students welcome if we have any readership in those parts. If anyone is interested PM me and I will pass your details to our e ..read more

Luxair assessment and selection process 2024

Hello fellow Aviators, as rumours say, Luxair changed their entry procedures recently and switched from the DLR to Mollymawk psychometrics. From what I've heard, also the process of the interview etc should've changed but I don't have any further details. Is there anybody who recently (guess they must have changed it in March or April 2024) sat the Mollymawk and or did the whole selection process? If so, I (and many others here) would probably enjoy some proper feedback and some good tips and tricks on how to prepare for the Mollymawk, interview, group games and so on. Thanks a lot in advanc ..read more

A380 5hr circling

This story came up on my news feed and this bit thst caught my attention was the aircraft circling for 5hrs to burn/dump fuel. I know SIN - LHR is a long distance flight and the A380 is on the 'likes a drink' side, but is 5hrs the norm? Seems a long time. Over to the A380 jockeys. https://airlive.net/news/2024/04/23/british-airways-a380-ba12-circled-for-5-hours-following-a-technical-issue/?amp=1 ..read more

Media release from PlanSA: https://plan.sa.gov.au/news/article/...code-amendment Changes to the planning rules are proposed to enable up to six homes with private aircraft hangars to be built within Tintinara Airfield. The draft Tintinara Airfield Code Amendment would apply the ‘Residential Aviation Estate Subzone’ to about 12,000 square metres in the southern corner of the airfield, providing opportunities for low-density residential development with a home and associated aircraft hangar on the same allotment. Building height and scale would be limited to complement nearby buildings and m ..read more

Whereabouts of Jamie Madeley

Does anyone know the whereabouts of Jamie Madeley? During my Sikorsky S76 world flight (see here) on the second sector from the USA to Sydney I was accompanied by an engineer, Jamie Madeley. I would like to contact Jamie as I’ve lost the details of where he is. At one stage I think he was working for the Australian Antarctic Division as an engineer, and he also worked for a helicopter company in Australia. Any details of where he may be would be greatly appreciated ..read more

Good evening. I am ATPL Integrated student and applied for BA last summer. I am still in training overseas and have not been able to book the capacity test. I have noticed they have changed the name to Speedbird and under the requirements they have now added additional 'Math' test. Can someone please confirm if this is the case? I know few students from my flight school have applied and only had to do the capacity test, followed by group and 1-1 interview and have been given conditional offer to start later this year. I wonder if they will reinvite them to do the 'Math' test on top of the cap ..read more
