I have been steadily monitoring the tsh levels and they have been going up these last few months They used to sit at 1.9 and now they’re all the way up. All other levels are normal. How do I get them down? I have a feeling it’s from taking too much iodine. How do I bring it back down? Do I just stop taking the iodine? Will it go back to normal??!!! submitted by /u/Urfavoritegeminii [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How quickly does medication make a difference in goitres and facial swelling?

I strongly suspect I have hypothyroidism or hashimoto's. I have a visible goiter, a swollen face, extreme fatigue, dry skin, cold insensitivity, etc. I have a nodule on my neck but it's benign and my doctor did a very basic blood test which was "fine", so any referral to a specialist for more advanced testing will take months if I'm lucky. I feel a bit vain, but I'm getting married in a month and the wedding is what's spurring me to finally take action. I've gotten used to feeling like crap all the time but the "moon face" is getting to me. I don't recognise myself anymore and frankly I look ..read more

I was diagnosed with Hashimotos hypothyroidism after my daughter was born in the beginning of 2022. We started trying for our second July of 2023 and I had a MMC in December and recently a chemically pregnancy. I just saw an RE who is optimistic I’ll be able to conceive after adjusting my medication and prescribing progesterone during my luteal phase. I guess my question is if anyone has a similar experience how long did it take you to conceive? I’m worried because if I get pregnant my next cycle my due date would be 3 weeks after my daughters birthday so I’d like to wait one more cycle but i ..read more

For years, I felt like I was trudging through life in slow motion. The world seemed to be moving at a normal pace, but I was perpetually stuck in first gear. Fatigue was my constant companion, a heavy cloak that draped itself over me, sapping my energy and motivation. It wasn't until I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism that the pieces finally clicked. A Fog Lifting: Recognizing the Symptoms Looking back, the signs were there all along. The constant weight gain despite seemingly healthy eating habits, the hair loss that made my once-thick mane feel like wispy straw, the brain fog that made eve ..read more

Chin/neck fat Why is my chin/neck area like this? I’m a pretty average weight (5’4 160 lbs, so I could stand to lose a little) but I don’t understand why my neck looks like this. I do have hypothyroidism, so that may have something to do with it. submitted by /u/Ok-Beginning1232 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

HOW to get treatment when lab results are normal?
Reddit - For those that suffer from hypothyroidism

I read Broda Barnes’s book about hypothyroidism, which went into detail about why lab tests aren’t always reliable. He went on and on about what thyroid treatment can do, but I still have no clue how to actually get it with lab results that seem normal. Any help? submitted by /u/tfn1 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
