37f. So a friend who is a nurse told me I need to get my thyroid checked by a doctor. Apparently it must look abnormal? I honestly don't know what to look for but I took these photos with my chin up so you could see the area. I know she means well but now I'm worried ?

Some background about me: when my labs were “perfect” (TSH = 2.4) and most of my numbers were near the middle of normal range(except total T4 that has been consistently high for me, 13.8 a few months ago but more recently back down to 11.2) I felt my absolute worst. My metabolism was so ridiculous I was literally eating 4000 cals a day just to gain maybe a pound a week, and sometimes months with no change, after I had rapidly lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks. I also had heart palpitations up to 160bpm resting.
In Jan, my TSH was 6.03 somehow and my T3 uptake got flagged as being low at 18%. My metab ..read more

This is my health story. 6 years ago, I had a benign thyroid nodule. That same nodule has grown so big that it is now pressing on my trachea causing shortness of breath, intense heartburn, head pressure, dizziness, ear and all over nerve pain. I felt off for three months and I saw multiple doctors while seeking answers. I didn’t make the connection that it was the same nodule. Neurologist wrote me off and said I was likely just stressed. ENT told me it was TMJ. Primary doctor was perplexed on what was going on. Multiple ER visits and a MRI brain scan. I switched to a new primary doctor and h ..read more

About two years ago, I had a hard lump on my neck and due to a history of females in my family having thyroid issues and thyroid cancer they sent me for an ultrasound.
They found several nodules and sent me to a specialist along with bloodwork. The endocrinologist said my thyroid is attacking itself but it keeps swinging from high to low so there isn’t medicine they can put me on as it would make my levels either too high or too low.
That being said, I’ve gained 45 pounds in the last six months. For context, I have always been around 115-120 and now weigh 160.
Are there alternatives for balan ..read more

So, to preface, I am 19 F, 130 lbs, I just acquired my results back after doing a follow-up blood test. My original results were 4.67 TSH and 1.22 T4.
I have just gotten my results back and I have a 5.67 TSH and a 1.32 T4. For both tests, I did a fasting blood test.
My t4 is normal, but my tsh has increased within a month—any advice is appreciated.
I was being tested because I had symptoms similar to the ones my mom had before diagnosis.

Thyroid health
I have a concern and it's urgent.
I have had an enlarged thyroid since Feb this year and I did very many tests. It's not a cause of worry but this one got me thinking
I'm 21 now female. And ever since I was 15 or 16, I started to get sick alot. It would be constipation, stomach issues. Then cane anxiety, depression, memory loss, fatigue, loss of appetite, not motivation for anything at all, lost interest on the things you loved.
I did the thyroid function test and it showed normal. Thing is almost all the doctors have asked me if I'm hypothyroid but it isn't showing so they are ..read more

Hey everyone,
I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to reach out to this community because I'm feeling quite lost and concerned about a situation involving a close female relative of mine, who is over 40 years old.
A while back, she had to undergo surgery to remove her thyroid gland due to a benign tumor that covered it. The procedure was necessary, and it was done swiftly to prevent any further complications. However, since then, she has been struggling immensely with her health.
Despite visiting numerous doctors in three different countries and eight different cities, spanning over 1 ..read more

My next appointment isn't for a month and I just want to ease mind. Over the years I've had hyperthyroidism (diagnosed) come and go. Without treatment. I'm terrified of doctors so I always worked up the nerve to go get the bloodwork but never went back for the results I just looked at them online. About 2 months ago I couldn't take it anymore, I felt like my body was 3 seconds away from death. So I finally went to the Dr's. They did bloodwork. My thyroid is fine. But my past bloodwork shows hyperthyroidism 3x that resolved on its own. I did test have a positive ana test so they suspect autoi ..read more

Hello, So today my ultrasound and full thyroid panel came back today. Ultrasound showed diffuse heterogeneous thyroid. No nodules or cysts.
The nurse practitioner said my labs were normal except for my antibody levels. He said they were supposed to be less than 9 and they were over 900. So he thinks I have Hashimoto’s. I’m very symptomatic still, and currently on 100 Synthroid. I am getting referred out to an endo and in the meantime my NP is starting me on Liothyronine. My question is- I plan to start the Liothyronine in the morning. Has anyone had good experiences with it helping Hashimotos ..read more
