I’ve been using cycling gloves to help with clammy palms and textures of stuff but been finding them pretty thick and bulky. Does anyone have recommendations for gloves I could use that have touch screen abilities but are not thick and bulky? submitted by /u/EccoHD [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Does anyone else struggle with analysing literature?

I had an oral exam for my German class today, and we had to analyse a text about a book we read in class . And boy, did i struggle to do that (I still passed somehow but only by a hair). It's been a reoccurring theme in my life that i can't seem to write a proper analysis when it comes to pieces of literature. Under almost every exam or test where we have to analyse parts of novels, i find something along the lines of "not profound/ in-depth enough" written next to my grade. I just wondered if that had a connection to my autism. I by no means want to find excuses for my grade. I know that how ..read more

Taking shoes off on the bus - socially acceptable?
Reddit » Autism

So the bus ride from school to my home is almost an hour and a half long and I like to sit comfortably (+ have a hard time sitting still because of my ADHD). In order to that I take my shoes off almost every time because I like to sit cross legged or in other positions that are uncomfortable with shoes on. I've heard a lot of stupid comments (even got my shoes stolen and hidden in the back of the bus a couple of times), but it was always coming from children. I never really thought about it, I didn't see anything wrong with it because I don't have smelly feet and I'm not restricting other peo ..read more

Paralyzing Anxiety

Apologies in advance if this ends up being a bit long-winded. I don't know if this is more of an Autism or ADHD thing, but does anyone feel absolutely overwhelming anxiety when it comes to tackling certain tasks? Some background: I recently quit my job because it drained me of all life and am since unemployed, and while I'd like to work again, looking for a job seems like an insurmountable feat to me. Every time I manage to sit down and try to focus on it, it feels like someone punched me in the guts. I start sweating and sometimes cry, to the point where I feel like I have to throw up and ha ..read more

For me, I can’t go anywhere without wearing AirPods. Music is my passion. I use it as a barrier from the noisy town I live in. I also wear sunglasses a lot even in overcast because I’m self conscious about my eyes. submitted by /u/Dizz-ie10 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

People say i'm constantly yapping

I really hate that word, but some kids at school are saying im yapping all the time. I have never noticed myself ever talking too much. And its not just the kids, my family and really close friends have said i talk a lot. I guess i really like to open up when I'm around people I know, but I didn't think it was that bad. Does this make sense? submitted by /u/BoxMonkey135 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
