It's been a while, we hope you are all staying safe and keeping well. We're so excited that some restaurants and cafes are opening their doors to dine in with restrictions of course. We popped by Kowloon Cafe shortly before lockdown and I have been craving & missing the crispy, warm & buttery pineapple bun. Their pineapple buns are the best and even better than the ones we tried in HK. The wok hei from the scrambled egg & BBQ pork rice dish was on another level. Can't wait to dine in Kowloon Cafe again with restrictions lifted slightly ..read more

We celebrated a special occasion at 12 Micron in Barangaroo and whilst it's almost been a year, I'm still thinking about the food and desserts. I have mixed feelings at the moment - part of me feels lucky to be able to experience the amazing food and 5 course dessert menu from 12 Micron however, the other part of me feels disappointed. Due to popuarity, 12 Micron is now exclusively a venue and dining destination for hire. They take bookings for private dinners through to venue hire for weddings and conferences.  Complimentary bread and butter is always a great way to start a degustation ..read more

Azzurro 753 | Dawes Point

I had a wonderful date night with a close friend at Azzurro 753. I was intrigued by the name of the restaurant. I thought 753 was the address but actually represents a tribute to their hometown (Rome) and Azzurro is the colour of Italy. Hence, Azzuro 753 reflects a strong identity of Bottega (their retail store) and Osteria (their dining experience). I've been on a booking frenzy ever since The Fork released their 50% Fork Festival. What caught my attention was the featured photo; a Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe. It reminded me of our dining experience at Tonnarello in Rome.  We ordered the Pa ..read more

Ginza North Point opened in North Sydney and the dining experience was great. Unfortunately I just found out that Ginza might be permanently closed. We dined as guests of Ginza and CPM Online Marketing and they prepared a set meal for us, starting with these delicious oysters. The oysters can be served with ikura, chives, ponzu or yuzu miso dressing. Following from the oysters, we enjoyed four pieces of assorted nigiri. You can select from the following nigiri from their a-la-carte menu i.e. tamago, salmon, kingfish, whitefish, cooked prawn tobiko, tuna, scallop, eel, salmon belly, kin ..read more

Imperial Jade Kitchen | Miranda

We wanted to have lunch at Din Tai Fung but they don't open until 11:30am. I thought of Imperial Jade Kitchen immediately as I've wanted to try a few dumpling dishes from them. I was hesitated due to previous health concerns but ever since the renovation, It's been very and filled with customers. Only one staff was quite attentive and the food was surprisingly not bad or as Matt would say, not behd. The pork and chive pot stickers had a very thick dumpling skin/pastry. The dumplings could've been fried a little longer to make it more crispy but aside from that, I would order this again ..read more

Grace of India is located conveniently next to Milson's Point station. Grace of India brings you 3 generations of recipes served in a family environment so you know you'll be experiencing traditional Indian food. When we were brought to our table, the waitress asked what the spice level is for the table. We both thought medium would be a reasonable spice level but boy, was I wrong. Matt tolerates spices really well whereas, I'm terrible. We ordered pappadam with condiments and onion bhajis to start, two curries (chicken tikka masala & lamb madras), two naans (keema and garlic & chee ..read more

I'm taking advantage of The Fork festival where you can get 50% off your bill at selected restaurants across Sydney. I couldn't believe it at first but didn't question this amazing perk. I've been using TheFork (previously Dimmi) for a while now and I'm a huge fan! I caught up with my foodie bestie over pizza and pasta at Via Della Spiga. The pizza came highly recommended and I've since heard, their pasta as well. I can definitely agree with both - the pizza base is so thin and crispy (my favourite) with the perfect amount of toppings. I dare say the pizza from Via Della Spiga was better t ..read more

We spent Valentine's Day at Nour Restaurant and had such a great time. We're already planning to return with a few friends. It had a great atmosphere and the food was on a whole new level.  We started with tomatoes, smoked almond tarator, salted barberries and pickled garlic. This first course was perfect on the palette. It was light, fresh and a great way to prepare your taste-buds for an amazing night. The pickled garlic is nothing we've ever experienced before and we loved the presentation. We moved onto chicken shawarma, pickled cabbage, tarator and yoghurt bread. I love how yo ..read more

Westfield Miranda is our go to place for movies, shopping and dining!  We decided to try The Shed Cafe which we've always walked past and ordered the Potato and Halloumi Rosti - served with with wilted spinach and poached eggs. The serving size was quite generous and whilst I enjoyed the dish, I couldn't finish all of it. Matt ordered the Pulled Pork Burger which came with perfectly cooked fries and whilst the pork alone had bold flavours, when compiled with the dry slaw, buns and lack of sauce, it lost that wow factor from a burger. Having said that, I'm still excited to return to try othe ..read more

Andiamo Trattoria is tucked away on Kensington Street in Chippendale. We had a mediocre experience at Andiamo's in terms of service however enjoyed the food. We arrived at around 6:45pm for dinner and was seated at a table that could potentially be out of sight. When the food eventually arrived, it was nothing but delicious! We enjoyed the polenta chips with a warm cheese sauce ($5 extra for the sauce) and two stonebaked pizza. We also ordered the slow cooked lamb ragout pappardelle and handmade gnocchi. Gnocchi for me is always moreish especially if its served with a cream sauce so it ..read more
