Hello all! So, I’m a vocalist. I know next to nothing about pianos … However! I am learning. Anyway, my boyfriend is a pianist and moving into an apartment soon. We are both college students and I would like for him to spend some more time at home and not in a practice room if he can practice at home. I would like to purchase him a nice upright piano that’s preferably less than 400$. I’ve searched for Yamaha and Kawai pianos, but I just don’t want to end up purchasing something that he won’t like or won’t be beneficial to him practice. If you have any advice for suggestions or even websites o ..read more

As a new piano teacher, I find correcting my students' hand positions challenging.
Could you please provide feedback on the hand position of the child in the videos below? It appears that he may not be utilizing proper finger power. Despite practicing exercises to improve finger strength, we haven't seen significant progress. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I just recently purchased the Yamaha P143 and am looking for a three pedal unit for it, preferably from Amazon or a trusted site, that is nice. Not sure if Yamaha has any ones that work with this piano or if they all work with one another. If you know of any that work with this piano let me know! Thanks

I’m not a beginner to the piano and I want to improve I can’t get a teacher or any paid resource and all those free online schools just don’t work for me. My goal on the piano is to be an all-round great pianist but the specific things I’m looking at are being able to play by ear (like playing along to someone singing or figuring out the melody of a song) and read sheet music can someone please tell me the things I need to learn this, especially the playing by ear, I know you need to know your scales and something about chords but it’s get hazy from there.
thanks:)

Nord has its own dedicated “Nord Piano Monitor”. What is the equivalent or best monitor to pair with the Roland Rd-2000?

Looking to pick up a copy of Bach well tempered clavier, English suites and partitas. I’m only an amateur pianist so don’t need Henle expensive editions. Anyone using Peters edition for Bach and what’s it like? Easy to read and stay flat on the music desk? Thanks.

My rendition of "Wet Hands" by Daniel Rosenfeld (aka C418). Performed as an encore during a solo recital held in Catania (Italy). Please enjoy! ?
