Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis' racketeering case against Donald Trump and 18 of his lawyers, former lawyers, and allies appears to be gaining momentum.
First filed in mid-August 2023, the indictment lays out a long list of alleged crimes committed by Trump and his team in the aftermath of Trump's loss to President Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election. Trump faces 13 felony charges in the case.
Many of the charges are predicated on or informed by Mr. Trump's well-publicized actions, including an infamous call between Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Ra ..read more

Carlee Russell said she saw a toddler walking along the side of I-459 in Hoover, Alabama. The boy was wearing nothing but a diaper, lacking any kind of adult supervision, and clearly up past his bedtime. This struck her as unusual. One doesn't normally expect to see unaccompanied babies taking nightly strolls along the side of interstate highways. The then 25-year-old Russell stopped on the side of the interstate and called 911 to report the incident, then called her brother's girlfriend to share what she saw.
Things went from strange to horrifying during the second call. Russell approached th ..read more

Although he was only 25 years old when he was brutally killed in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas in September 1996, Tupac Shakur's legacy unarguably lives on. He was renamed at age one by his Black Panther parents after Túpac Amaru II, a legendary indigenous Peruvian revolutionary who had struggled against Spanish rule. Famous for the "Thug Life" tattoo he had etched across his torso, some of Tupac's lyrics revealed wisdom and perception well beyond his years. In June 2023, 27 years after his death, Shakur was awarded a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which followed h ..read more

It's a story that evokes certain scenes from the movie American Hustle. Robert Menendez has been the senior U.S. senator for the state of New Jersey since 2006. The 69-year-old son of Cuban immigrants vehemently denies the allegations of bribery and corruption that he and his glamorous Lebanese-Armenian wife, Nadine Menendez (née Arslanian), are currently facing. On September 27, 2023, Bob Menendez pleaded not guilty to charges that he and his wife received nearly $500,000, as well as gold bars and a Mercedes, as bribes from three New Jersey businessmen. He has also refused ..read more

There are two certainties in life: death and taxes. This famous Benjamin Franklin quote is often repeated. What many people don't know is that the famous "death and taxes" line is only a small part of the quote.
The whole quote is:"Our new Constitution is now established, everything seems to promise it will be durable; but, in this world, nothing is certain except death and taxes."
Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, is out to remind the world that the Constitution has endured, as has all the rights it promises. Even with regard to taxes.

No-contact orders typically live at the border of family law and criminal law. A no-contact order is usually the result of allegations of domestic violence, although they can arise in other circumstances such as stalking and harassment.
The recipient of a no-contact order may not fully understand what it entails. Does no contact include sending an apology through a social media platform? Or sending a friend request on Instagram? Or using an indirect method, such as tagging on a Facebook post?
The short answer is yes. It is far better to be safe than sorry when it comes to no-con ..read more

Georgia courts are muy rico with racketeering cases lately. First, it was Young Thug and his YSL record label who faced 55 different charges under Georgia's state racketeering law. Then, former president Donald Trump was also indicted under the same Georgia law (on top of parallel federal charges). All of these charges come under some version or another of the RICO Act, which is a bit of a household name now as far as laws go. But what exactly is it, and why is it being used to prosecute two seemingly very different cases? Let's break it down.

Spain has been on everyone's lips, and unfortunately, it is not only for winning the Women's Soccer World Cup. Another event during the medal ceremony has taken headlines: the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales, kissed player Jenni Hermoso on the mouth.
While one kiss on each cheek is common practice in Spain, a kiss on the mouth certainly isn´t. The commotion caused by the kiss opened a worldwide debate.
In response to the situation, Rubiales defended himself by arguing that the event occurred in a moment of "maximum effusiveness without any bad intentions" and ..read more

It is becoming difficult to follow the various prosecutions against former President Donald Trump. Trump is facing both state and federal felony charges from four separate prosecutions that all arose within the last five months. Some of these charges involve the same underlying behavior (overturning the 2020 election results) but not all.
Here is a brief overview of the various felony charges against Trump as things currently stand:
Four federal felony charges alleging a conspiracy to overturn election results. Federal prosecutors in D.C. have jurisdiction.

Almost everyone loves fireworks. They are bright and colorful. They are pretty. They go boom!
For most people, firework are an integral part of any Fourth of July celebration, whether at home or out watching a professional pyrotechnic display. It's almost sacrilegious to imagine an Independence Day without at least some colorful explosions.
Some state governments, however, feel differently about the use of fireworks by regular folk. They only see the dangers of amateur firework displays and put harsh restrictions in place. That doesn't stop stores in neighboring states from selling ..read more
