The first time I heard of the Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI) was at the Ethical Journalism Network’s conference in Istanbul – one of the panels brought a presentation of the new tool by Reporters Without Borders (RSF), which would shine a new light on the dire image of journalism around the world and provide an opportunity to re-invent new age journalism based on ethics. This new tool was created with the intention to bring back to life what ethics is all about – trust-worthy journalism aimed at providing unbiased ..read more

The slaughter of journalists among the thousands of civilian casualties in the Gaza conflict reveals how international standards for the protection of media staff are hopelessly inadequate.

By the end of February than 100 journalists had been killed, dozens of their family members had died with them and hundreds more have been injured. Many of these victims died work ..read more

Journalists tend to be thick-skinned when it comes to war reporting, but few will be unmoved by the painful, almost unbearable story of how Al Jazeera bureau chief Wael Dahdouh was speaking live to camera from the rubble of the frontline in Gaza when he heard that his wife, son and daughter had been killed in an Israeli missile strike.
Dahdouh is a media veteran, a familiar face to people across the Middle East and renowned for his reporting from the region and particularly the continuing tragedy of the Israeli-Palestine conflict.
His devastating experience ..read more

..read more

..read more
