I just committed to wrestle in college. Every year Ive done off season wrestling, but Ive never actually done an overnight wrestling camp, so Im not super familiar. What are the best high level summer wrestling camps to help me get ready for my first college season?

I hear a lot about the Brands and their style and it being outdated, etc, etc. I’m just wondering what exactly is their style or “brand” (haha) of wrestling. What are people referring to here? Thanks.

For my high intensity interval cardio, I do full speed on the treadmill (12mph) with a 10% incline, I run on this for 35 seconds, then I take a minute rest and that minute rest I do 15 pushups. Once the minute rest is done I get back on the treadmill and I repeat this cycle until I am a little lightheaded and my body is telling me it cant do anymore, it usually takes me 7-10 rounds to get to this point. I do this cardio session every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and yesterday not long after I finished my cardio I went to go do my community service, while I was doing it I kept getting light ..read more

Some good info here from the team physician for U of Iowa wrestling, a dietician who works with Rutgers wrestlers and a longtime athletic trainer about safe health/nutrition/weight loss for high school-aged wrestlers.

They were 2nd last year and now they placed 6th this year. I know some finished their careers but what made Iowa drop in team scores?

mma gym but teammate is more of a boxer , he gets kinda upset that he has to train with me, as if i’m the weakest in the group, he went all out just because i got him with a hook and was upset that it hit. he gets upset with me holding pads for him and even in wrestling class (which is my main thing since i do college wrestling), he tells me he doesn’t want me in his group cause he has a fight and a couple rounds later he get his shoulder sprained because of the guy he switched. he acts like a friend but when it comes to fighting he tries to let me know that i’m no where near his level.

Hey, I am 22 years old and been planning to join wrestling as a big Gym opened near my house. I watched wrestling growing up but never really got hand exposure to it. I know the basics like Double and single leg takedowns just by watching videos and practicing it on my own.
Any recommendations or tips for me in terms of: - what to focus on improving at the start - what should my diet have
I am 5'10 and weigh 160 lbs and have Boxing experience when I was growing up.
Anything helps thanks!
