In a special board meeting Thursday, the Perry School Board of Education hired Mike Ryan as the new Perry Wrestling Coach.  Ryan brings 34 years of success and experience to the Perry program.  Ryan is a graduate of Tulsa Webster, where he was a 4X state qualifier and state placer, wrestling under legendary coach Ernie Jones.  As a junior, Ryan qualified for the Oklahoma Junior national freestyle, competing with teammates like John Smith and Keith Walton at the Junior National Tournament. Saturday morning started off with fireworks and Team Oklahoma had another strong day. U14 and U20. Moore’s Shelby Kemp and Carl Albert Jr College had a few girls wrestling in U20 . Kasia Wong of Tuttle and Carleigh Clark of Pryor wrestled in U14 on Saturday. In U17 65 KG Bella Williams won her best 2 of 3 series. Williams scored a 10-6 victory in match number 1. Williams was unable to get much going in match number 2 losing a hard fought After a short time Bella was able to regain her composure for match number 3. After an executive session at the Bridge Creek School Board meeting on Wednesday, Grant Williams was named the new head wrestling coach for the school. We would like to welcome Grant and Skylar Williams to Bridge Creek. The Oklahoma girls had a pretty good showing yesterday in the U17 and U23 divisions.  The Oklahoma we omens entrants are taking home 2 All American honors back to Oklahoma. In  U17 Bella Williams will wrestle a best 2 of 3 for the right to be the world team representative at World’s later on this year. Bella was relentless in her hand fight on Friday evening in her semifinal match. Her match in the semis was a absolute battle the first period.
