I worked in tech-related industry. Somehow a marketing manager (not manager of my team) asked me if I can "make news publishers provide their content for our company to review before making it published." The person is at a very senior level and has title as director. I was not sure how I should feel about this, and neither am I now. Has anyone ever experienced the same? submitted by /u/BananaAssaulter [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I am graduating from college this May 2024. I am trying to decide between an entry-level job at an agency that is consumer-focused, working with an array of clients across Food & Beverage, etc, OR a summer internship with a Healthcare PR agency which is a field I am interested in learning more about and gaining experience in. Some background about me: I have two previous internship experiences at PR agencies, neither of which worked with healthcare clients, but I gained experience working with clients across industries. My question is, do I take an entry-level job at an agency after gradu ..read more

Cision & Meltwater - Why is this so expensive??

Hey hey ? So I can neither confirm, nor deny the fact that I work for a fortune 100 company in the PR & Comms department. Which is B2C and I’ve recently been made department head. What I want to know from you PR & Comms leaders (anonymously) is why prices like $75,000 to $100,000 for 12 reports a year is justified? That’s on top of a $15,000 to $20,000 cost of just their software alone! I’ve got questions! ?Why do people buy this stuff? ?Is there anyone here who has done so? ?What do you use it for? ?If it’s justifiable, should I do the same? ?Don’t Agencies do media analysis? ?Can yo ..read more

Advice needed: PR link I earned marked as rel="sponsored"

Hey guys, I recently acquired some PR links thanks to an interesting study I did. I do this for my own company with the main purpose of SEO. One big site that reported on my study linked to it, but marked the link as , which has virtually no SEO value. Besides, I did not pay for this link, so I think this is just wrong. What would you recommend doing? Contact the journalist? Or just leave it as it is? Did you have any kind of similar experience? submitted by /u/eloycaudet [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi, I'm an international student from India going to the United Kingdom for my Media studies degree. I plan on staying there after graduation. I'm currently a content writer with 3 years of freelancing and 11 months of full time worke experience. so the question is per the title, how does the PR field look like for expat job seekers? once I graduate I'd be able to work in the UK for 2 years without sponsorship but after that the company might need to sponsor a visa. so is that something companies would do? what do I need to keep in mind before getting into PR? any advice is appreciated. Hey Everyone, I'm an ex-Cision & ex-Meltwater Client Strategist who's spun off on my own and started a NY Based Consultancy doing Reporting & Analysis. Think of it like monthly, quarterly, or crisis based reports - but at a fraction of the prices that media monitoring companies charge! I don't have a platform or a tool.. I have analysts who export data from your media monitoring tools (I'm definitely not looking to try and build a better mouse-trap) which I'm agnostic towards. We then sift through the data, enrich it with other sources and put together analyst curated reports that ..read more
