PGL Family Holidays and Adventure Breaks
Potty Adventures

Having used PGL in my day job as a teacher to organise school trips in both the UK and abroad, I was delighted to see that they’d recently added adventurous family staycation holidays to their already pretty extensive portfolio of breaks, trips and holidays. So, when they got in touch with us to see whether we’d be interested in checking out one of their PGL family holiday UK centres, Caythorpe Court, we jumped at the chance. Every time I’ve used PGL for school trips and school holidays with large groups of pupils, I’ve been seriously impressed, first and foremost, by their staff. They start ..read more

Ruptured Achilles – Dadventures Face 6 Months Out!

Yes, if you’ve seen any of our Instagram stories over the last few days, you’ll know that I seem to have spent as much time in hospital recently as I have at home.  Doing nothing more than turning to run, I felt like I’d been walloped from behind by a kick or a bloody baseball bat, went down like I’d been shot by a sniper and then experienced a pretty horrific pain.  You could literally hear the snap. A mate of mine messaged me last night and described it as the sound of a “branch snapping” and he’s spot on. It was a ruptured Achilles. The funny thing is at first I had no ..read more

British Canoeing On The Water Membership
Potty Adventures

Although most experienced paddlers will have heard of a Waterways Licence, it’s pretty understandable that those people who are completely new to kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding and may have just treated themselves to a new craft recently; may not have.  What follows here then is a quick guide to getting yourself a Waterway Licence together with the other benefits of taking out a British Canoeing On the Water Membership. Britain’s waterways are owned, maintained and operated by a myriad of different individuals and organisations.  As such, you need permission in the form of a ..read more

The funny thing is at first I had no idea how serious the injury was and certainly had no idea it was a ruptured Achilles. I’ve had a bit of a niggly calf muscle for a couple of yea ..read more

Lomo Tempest Kids Wetsuit Review
Potty Adventures

We’ve recently become the proud owners of a new paddleboard and, along with keeping them safe on the water with buoyancy aids, keeping them warm and comfortable was another of out top priorities.  Having kayaked and canoed previously we were acutely aware that, despite the fact that the kids were supposed to remain in the craft; more often than not they wanted to jump into the water – because obviously that’s the fun bit.  Well, that and trying to rock us so badly that we fell in too!  So, when the good people at Lomo put it to us that they had the perfect wetsuit for our family ..read more

SJCAM 4k Carbon Review – A Budget Busting Action Camera
Potty Adventures
by David Mellor

In the world of action cameras, GoPro have the market pretty much covered.  Undoubtedly, they make good action cameras, spend huge sums on marketing campaigns and sponsorship, (which makes owning one an overwhelming aim for large swathes of the population), and offer a host of add-ons and accessories to further saturate the market.  But, what if you don’t have over £300 available to splash out on the latest GoPro Hero 7 Black?  What happens if your budget and/or usage simply can’t justify that sort of outlay? What then?  Well, if you want a budget-b ..read more
