I'm trying to find a place to set my savings that allows for something like "pockets" or dog ears for organization. Anyone try this service? They have good reviews but I'm wary. submitted by /u/rock_kid [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Bear with me, there's a few questions in here, but with the impending recession I'm hoping to make the right moves here. I have an Amazon chase card with a balance around $13k. Basically, we had some medical issues back in 2017/18 and this was all we had for everything. We've always paid, always on time, but it has a 14% APR and the minimum payment basically just covers the interest every month, however, we've been focused on other things, and the payments were being made, I've just let it go. If I am understanding correctly, my best option here is to find a balance transfer card with 0 A ..read more

Hello, I’m in a pickle right now. My family has means to pay for my college tuition, but because I didn’t get any scholarships and I’m dorming I have to pay a bit before the year starts. My dad is upset with me because he says I’ve been sitting around doing nothing while everyone else he knows has been getting scholarships, working hard, and barely has to pay anything every year. He says I need to make a written statement about what he should expect from me for the semester or he’s pulling out of the payment plan we signed up for and I’ll have to find some other way to pay. The issue is I’m n ..read more

Hello! I'd love some retirement planning advice. I am 43. I am a teacher in Massachusetts and will receive a pension when I retire (age 65) which will be 80% of the average of my last three year's teaching salary. My pension will never increase so as time passes it will be worth less. I will not receive social security. My husband has started to save late for retirement, but he will have some retirement income from mutual funds and social security. Right now he is saving 15% of his salary. I would like to start additional savings for retirement. I was thinking about starting a Roth IRA, and g ..read more
