Great Canadian Heli-Skiing

Al Alison Dakin has wanted to be a guide since she was 14, but the path wasn’t always linear. Unlike a significant number of people living in our region who have relocated from around the world for the lifestyle, Al has lived here for almost all of her life. She grew up in Parson, BC, which is a small community just south of Golden. Al started working at the Alpine Club of Canada’s mountaineering camps when she was 14. She began as a young teenager peeling potatoes and washing dishes, and over her summers spent at the camps eventually became a camp manager. During her time working on the camps ..read more

Arc’teryx is the outerwear brand of choice for our guiding team Are you in the market for some new ski gear for this season? We recommend the quality clothing from our fellow BC-born company Arc’teryx, the brand worn by all of our guiding team, and featured in our boutique store.  Our partnership with Arc’teryx began almost 20 years ago, when we became the first heli-skiing company to partner with the brand. Since then, Arc’teryx has become the standard choice across the industry due to its reputation for making such great gear.  Originally named Rock Solid, Arc’teryx began ..read more

Leg Blasters

Get those powder legs ready Skiing powder is a unique feeling – nothing compares to the way it feels to float downhill through weightless snow. This also means that few activities outside of skiing fully prepare your leg muscles for the movement required to support you through the powder, and it’s always disappointing to be faced with perfect bottomless powder conditions but unseasoned legs are hampering the enthusiasm. As we are located in one of the snowiest places in Canada, you’ll want to be sure that your legs are prepared to take full advantage of all the powder. This is where leg blaste ..read more

If craft beer is your beverage of choice, you will have been as glad as we were when we introduced delicious draft beer on tap from our local brewery, Whitetooth Brewing Company, to our bar menu two winters ago. Since then we have received nothing but happy feedback from our beer-loving guests from around the world. Whitetooth is located in Golden, BC and uses fresh water from the Purcell and Selkirk mountains to create their small-batch Belgian-inspired and West Coast influenced range of beers.  Our favourite, and most regularly featured brew, is appropriately named Blower Pow IPA, an ho ..read more

The health & safety of our guests and staff is our number one priority. As a shared responsibility, we ask everyone (guests and staff) to be diligent in following our guidelines. As the global health crisis and recovery evolves, the policies and initiatives presented here will likely change. The situation is very fluid. At all times we will follow all guidance for commercial operations in British Columbia provided by Dr. Bonnie Henry, the BC Health Officer, the BC Centre of Disease Control and Transport Canada. We are confident that we will meet and in many cases, exceed these regulatory s ..read more
