I just wrapped up a poetry workshop course this semester and I had one of the greatest experiences of my life as a writer. It was in an English class. I remember that the author described something like a sunset along with the stars and said something like, "not even that could compare to your beauty", I remember that there was a theme about a horse too, but I can't recall clearly. My professor said that there isn't a cooler compliment that you could say to a girl than the one on the poem, hahaha. Talking about the World War I period, there were countless names of poets who wrote their poems on the trenches, battlefields, underground, etc,...except Frost because he was 40 at the time. I can recall some: Edward Thomas, Rupert Brooke, Siegfried Sassoon, Wilfred Owen, Isaac Rosenberg,...there were plenty.
