I'm 25 years old (f) and I started my new job this week working as a case manager for domestic violence at a non-profit organization. The job it self isn't too bad and everyone is nice especially my supervisor seems understanding and helpful. However, I feel anxious and out of my comfort zone as this is my first big girl job out of college. During my 20s, I was in college and working part-time at a retail store. I've always dreamed of getting my degree and getting a better job within my field. Now, that I've accomplished my goal, I can't help but feel anxious and nervous with this new job. Du ..read more

What’s up friends. Long time listener. First time caller. Was wondering if y’all had any input. I was looking for a career change when I could see my manufacturing job drying up. I took my civil service exam for waste water management. Passed and got put on the list. Needing to get out of my former occupation I started up with a firm for Construction Materials Testing. I’m working on getting my ACI certification. And the more certifications I get the more I can earn here. I’ve been here a little less than a month but just recently got a call for an interview with the waste water facility. I d ..read more

So, to get straight into it; I have been working at this company now (part time) since november 2023, getting on well but they were being very slow about hiring me full time (we'll call this Job A). As they were being too slow I decided to look else where and I got to the final interview stages of a similiar job (Job B). The interview went really well and i expected to hear back within a week (it's now been 3 weeks). A few days after the final interview for Job B, Job A decided to finally send me an offer and after a day or two of negotiations on salary etc I've been offered the job. Here's t ..read more

I know Power BI, Power Automate, basic SQL (can read but not good at writing) and efficient ways to get work done. I started offering productivity training using Microsoft 365 tools and new employee onboarding training which I have found rewarding. I enjoy working with IT to drive user adoption. At the same time, I feel bored at my job. The pay sucks too. Some staff who don’t even know the difference between reply and reply all/right click and left click are paid better than I am. Some positions I recently applied/interviewed for included keywords like “business affairs”, “workforce automatio ..read more

Long story short, lost my job yesterday on my new job 2 months in due to company restructuring. I’m asking friends and family recommendations on what to do, since a week and a half ago I announced in linked in that I have this new job(lesson learned wait 6 months. First time I lost a job). How do I proceed to do this? Do I remove it silently? Do I keep it because of its name and be honest on what happened? If I do remove it do I wait a bit before doing so? What do I do? Some say keep it, others say erase it. But this is family and friends recommendation. But I’d thought I maybe ask fellow pro ..read more

Although staff book said company can provide mental support, they never do that. Nobody will understand you and help you. Working hard is useless. Chaotic, rule-less, subjective management. Actually, the workplace is very traditional and not inclusive in the UK. submitted by /u/Kokiiiii_ [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
