Husband is a musician (and very talented). He is also in the production side of events for music/bands. That brings in sales experience. He wants out and wants a job feeling passionate. He has a great work from home schedule and can take gigs as he wants. He is passionate about animals, a good manager/leader, creative in all ways. Any ideas for a new career? 40’s and financially stable. submitted by /u/bringit0n21 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi All, There's a big chance I may get converted from a contractor to a full time employee with the client I've been working with. Their compensation package is good and has a few more perks than the usual. Salary wise, I'm currently on the low end 6 figure salary and before accepting an offer I obviously want to negotiate for a higher salary. Basically, based on my tech engineering role, the average salary according from multiple salary websites which i compared across the board, its about 30k - 70k more then my current contractor salary based on experience. I'm looking to aim for the stars ..read more

Is it the new job, or me?

Backstory: I left my old job because of a toxic micromanager who tried to give me an invalid PIP. I thought about staying after I had a performance evaluation that went well. I really loved that job and can't stop thinking about it. I actually did ask for my old job back but was told they wanted to "keep the door open" but were going ahead with interviews but would get back to me. One of the candidates is a friend of my old manager so I never had high hopes. Started a new job about a month ago. Same line of work but now I am working from home (part-time) which is new to me. The first 1-2 week ..read more

I work for a very large company in the aerospace sector. During a one-on-one, my immediate manager stressed the importance of excel skills and told me that they would help me qualify for any job in the building. I’m skeptical but I’m not in the position to know. Please share your experience. submitted by /u/OnetB [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Getting an HR degree and having doubts.

I'm 36, never went to college and currently have a position as an HR assistant. I'm starting school to get an HR degree for two reasons. To have something on my resume to say I went to college and earn more money. My real goal is to do project management and eventually get a PMP. Am I going about this the right way? I figured if the the project management fails for whatever reason I can go back to doing HR. I am an over thinker and need advice on this. Am I doing the right thing? Or should I do something else? submitted by /u/papaya_whiskey [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I’m lost and confused after I got accepted into masters in social media marketing. I thought that if I didn’t get accepted I’ll work as a vet tech as my passion for animals even tho the pay is awful, I still have passion for working with animals. I want to work and save money until I get married and also take my dog to daycare as she’s so lonely. But my fear is not making enough money to support myself if marriage didn’t work. I want to have a secure income and be financially stable. If I do masters yes I know I will have a higher pay better job but I won’t be working during the full 2 years ..read more
