So while reading books and social media posts I use to encounter vocabularies that were unknown to me, searching for their meaning alone werent helpful I needed a better explanation to fully grasp the context in which they should be used. I started collecting these vocabularies and thought to share with others who may be in the similar situation like me. You can check them here. Feel free to give feedback. submitted by /u/Da_____k [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi r/vocabulary! I recently spent 3 months building an AI tool to help learn new words through conversation. It introduces words, helps you make sentences using them, and gives some feedback. It also engages in conversations with you in those words to increase your exposure. Please check it out at wordlab.cloud ! And please let me know what you think, I want to know if this is a valid idea to help expand vocab efficiently. What methods are you currently using to learn vocab? https://preview.redd.it/s6zmwhie70vc1.png?width=2880&format=png&auto=webp&s=8cb0577980b527e13f8571d095b84 ..read more

Is this excerpt describing a punch? In a visual adaptation, the narrator punches this passage. Is correct?

Hello. I'm reading a comic inspired by a book, and I came across an excerpt where the narrator punches another character in the face. I found it strange because in the book it doesn't say that the narrator threw a punch, or I didn't understand and interpreted everything wrong. This is the excerpt from the book: "I pulled myself up. I held her wrists with one hand and swung. It almost stunned her; I didn't want her completely stunned. I wanted her so she would understand what was happening to her." Is this excerpt describing a punch? submitted by /u/wickedandsick [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Advancing further, somebody on your team treads carelessly into a tripwire. As your teammate struggles to relinquish his foot from the wire, the area around you bu ..read more

Hi. I'm reading a book, and I came across this excerpt: “Say it, Lou. Say it and I’ll say something.” “Don’t threaten me, baby,” I said. “I don’t like threats.” “I’m not threatening you. I'm telling you. You think you're too good for me—I’ll—I’ll—” “Go on. It’s your turn to do the saying.” “I wouldn’t want to, Lou, honey, but I’m not going to give you up. Never, never, never. If you're too good for me now, then I’ll make it so you won’t be.” I kissed her, a long hard kiss. Because baby didn't know it, but baby was dead, and in a way I couldn’t have loved her more. “Well, now, baby,” I said ..read more
