Hey everyone! Not sure if this is the proper place to ask about medical records, but here goes. Firstly, I have celiacs. I just started a new hybrid job that requires me to commute 50 miles to and from the office twice a week. I have had bad experiences with traffic combined with gastrointestinal distress in the past which would cause me to be late to work, or just turn around in traffic all together and head back home. I have expressed this to my manager, and she’s been really cool about it, but I can tell that I need to be more formal and upfront about my needs. Since celiacs is considered ..read more

Canned chickpeas!

They help keep me regular! That’s pretty much all that needs to be said. I drain the can, season it with lemon or oil and salt/ pepper, leave the Tupperware in the fridge and eat them over a 4 day period. If i don’t finish them in 3 days then I roast them so they don’t go bad. It really has helped much more than any fiber supplement. Gummies or powders to mix in. Alternatively, eating some busches baked beans help. Not too much. Anyway I hope this might help some of you ! submitted by /u/spicy-acorn [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Being GF is the worst

This is a bit of a rant post, since it's 5am, and I have to be up for work in 5 hours, but I've been told I have gluten intolerance, and should be gluten free for various medical reasons, but life on a gluten free diet us a nightmare. I first started about 7 months ago, and tried it for maybe a month and a half, and it was awful. Daily headaches, insomnia, borderline panic attacks, hot flushes...and I was only ever eating like 2 "safe" meals, because everything else specifically gluten free, especially the sweet things (I LOVE sweets) were absolutely WRECKING my BMs. (Sorry if that's TMI, lol ..read more

Anyone else swell up from gluten?

Beyond bloating, I’m talking whole body swells and retains water. Mostly in my lower extremities but it affects me everywhere else as well. My doc hasn’t tied it to my gluten intolerance and has prescribed water pills but I want to get to the source. I am healthy, active, bloodwork is normal. I have digestive issues, bloating, depression, anxiety, irritability, fatigue when I consume gluten. Does anyone have swelling and water retention as a side effect as well? submitted by /u/megatorm [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I wonder do I have gluten intolerance or something like that? Whenever I eat wheat heavy product, especially bread my left ear starts to get red, hot(as in temperature) and a bit itchy and overall I notice how my body temperature becomes slightly warmer. However, I don't feel bloated nor sleepy whatsoever and stuff like that didn't happen in my childhood submitted by /u/Jopniy_grib [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

But I’m being weird about it lol Fair warning that the account is “run by” a doll and that anything before 2022 is not gluten free—just that the doll already had a food blog kinda so seemed silly to add that stuff to my main account or start a new one https://www.instagram.com/zaneswhatswhat?igsh=MTIzc2h1ajY3d3F4MA%3D%3D&utm_source=qr If anyone wants to follow it would definitely give me more motivation since I’ve decided to be more serious about this. If you don’t like dolls/think they’re creepy I totally understand, just thought I’d mention for anyone looking for ideas on gluten free st ..read more

hi guys! i’ve been getting more and more into making my own foods, for cost efficiency and all that. however, i feel like making bread is so difficult when you’re gluten free. does anyone have any recipes for bagels, buns, breads, anything of that sort? i’d prefer to steer away from ingredients like xanthan gum and go for a more natural route! submitted by /u/pumpkin-gnome22 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Iron supplements make me hungry

Hi! I have been GF for 2 months and it really helped with my platelets number and bloating. I am in the process of getting diagnosed about it. This week I checked my ferritin level for the the first time and it is very low - 5.5. I do not have any blood illnesses cause the hematalogist ruled them out last year (dunno why she did not check ferritin then). My next appointment with GP is in 2 weeks. Meanwhile I started to take iron as supplement (28mg) which I bought OTC and it is making me so hungry after I take it. Did anyone have a similiar problem? submitted by /u/Comfortable-Wait1792 [visi ..read more
