I am a senior executive reliant on the combination of Xanax (alprazolam) and propranolol to manage social anxiety-driven panic attacks that occur in work meetings. This includes any interaction (presenting, speaking in meetings, 1-on-1 meetings) where I worry that it would be awkward, uncomfortable, or otherwise detrimental to have a panic attack.
When I am medicated with Xanax and propranolol I am very effective, and no one would have any idea that I suffer from an anxiety disorder.
I've recently started Trintellix and am initiating treatment next week with a psychologist specializing in ACT ..read more

Have to attend an in person work conference for 2 days this week. I’m an absolute mess with my anxiety lately we had a small team meeting on Wednesday and I had to make an excuse to leave the room as it was my turn to give an update to the team and my anxiety couldn’t handle it. Fight or flight kicked in big time. I have propranolol that I plan to take for my conference this week but I’m not sure how much to take. I’m thinking 2x 40mg tablets as my anxiety is so bad lately. Even introducing myself im panicking right now thinking about it, I have all these excuses in my head to leave the room ..read more

Hi everyone, I noticed that I started stressing a bit less for work related presentations. I used to overly prepare everything, practising it all the time during work time and in evenings at home. But for some reason I don’t feel the need anymore to do this (at least for now). I know I will still be very nervous at the moment itself but usually my entire weekend before the presentation is ruined. Is this a good sign or not? I’m not sure anymore if I can trust myself, maybe u should be nervous so I practice more? Please advice.

Hi All,
I have a decade of experience in public speaking and coaching. I took 4 years off to start a family, because of my family I don't want to travel like I used to so I am looking to youtube, to gain exposure. Learning youtube is a whole new experience, give me a crowd anytime. So I am learning youtube. I create a video 2 weeks ago, I 100% know that content works but I need honest constructive feedback on so that I can get better at it. Thank you for your help :)

I've been given a prescription of Propranolol for the first time ever but I'm a little concerned by doctor did not listen to the information I gave them about my low HR and BP.
I run a lot and since I started, I have ended up with a pretty low HR. Usually throughout the day it sits around 52-3 BMP and my BP reading is usually around 90/60.
My doctor has said this is fine but does anyone else have experiences with this kind of thing? I have a huge presentation coming up soon and I know I won't be able to do it without some assistance.

Has anyone tried voice coaching or training to help with overcoming a trembling voice?
I have great anxiety but feel it's exacerbated by the fact my voice shakes and gives away my anxiety, which creates a bit more of a vicious cycle.
I am trying hard to focus on my breathing to stop myself running out of breath (which is an issue) but has anyone tried voice coaching to keep a steadier voice? I feel like if my voice didn't highlight my anxiety, i could gradually overcome my fear, as my greatest anxiety is about how I sound and am perceived, which then fuels more anxiety in the moment, creating ..read more

Hey Guys!
I'm going to be competing at a Skills Alberta competition in the public speaking portion. All the other candidates are high school students and if I win I'll be the first junior high student to win the competition. The problem is that most of my public speaking has been about lessons and stuff like that with cadets. I was wondering if anyone has any tips for being able to seem confident and persuasive to the panel of judges and potentially place in the top three.
Thanks!
