As most of you know I home cook for Kirby and Kenzie.  They do get a very small handful of kibble in the morning when I have to leave for work. When we travel I purchase foods that are easy to carry and serve always from a company I trust. The Simple Food Project recently sent us samples of all three flavors which I used for their morning kibble. This brand impressed me enough that I plan to use their food for both the morning kibble and when we travel.   What Is The Simple Food Project? This is the most transparent dog food company I have encountered.  You know who the holisti ..read more

He stopped and watched the squirrel scamper away, then shivered remembering mama’s warning of never going into the woods behind the house. She had warned there ..read more

The Canine Chef Cookbook - Blog
by Debby

Dates are versatile, nutritious, and naturally sweet so they are often used as a natural alternative to sweeten baked goods. They are easily digested and their high fiber content enables the smooth movement of waste through the body. As a carbohydrate, dates are a source of instant energy because of their concentrated natural sugar content which is very high. So the answer is yes in moderation.  Too much can possibly result in gas and diarrhea so start off with a small amount to see how they tolerate it. Be sure to REMOVE THE PITS which could easily cause choking.  Often times when ..read more

By Guest Contributor, Emily Conklin Credit: Pixabay Introducing your dog to a leash can present you with a dilemma.
