Hi I’m 17 and this summer I want to go hunting( specifically wild boar) , fishing, and camping in a nice location (vibrant trees and clear water that’s nice for swimming) I’m in texas but I am do want to go somewhere near the Rocky’s. These could be separate locations for each or the same I just want to know good spots, gear and I might go with a friend who’s 75% on board. submitted by /u/Give-me-a-follow-69 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My friends and I want to end off our first year of university by going on a camping trip. There’s a huge group going, and two campsites booked for a provincial park in Ontario, Canada. However, the weather looks like it’s going to be terrible. There’s strong winds, heavy rain, and thunderstorms. My parents don’t feel comfortable sending me especially since I’m pretty sure almost everyone has never been camping before (they thought it would be warm enough to swim, they don’t own sleeping bags or tents). Thus, I am bringing a tent, so I can’t exactly cancel as they’ll be left without one. Idk w ..read more

Have you ever been to a campground and it just doesn’t have room for the tent? I’m worried about how big the footprint is. submitted by /u/jrc1515 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi, Is 8° C / 46° F (night temp) too cold to go camping during springtime? I'm thinking about doing that a few days from now. I'll be sleeping close to a body of water by the way. Thanks. Edit : I will use a tent, a warm sleeping bag and a warm coat (+ other warm clothes). Is that enough? submitted by /u/No-Taste-4439 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I am not an experienced tent camper, supposed to have a multi-family weekend trip but planning on avoiding it. Curious if this is over-reacting or completely normal. Campground is in a large forest site with tall trees everywhere, close together. Its not really a well managed from a forestry standpoint. It is otherwise a nice family camp area. Weather will be thunderstorms likely all weekend, strongest during the late night/early morning. Wind gusts up to 38mph. Rain will be 100%. Ive backpacked in rain and that doesn't bother me, but I am very concerned about tenting under trees during thund ..read more

Going to Albany from Binghamton for a sporting event at the beginning of June. Commute of 45min or less preferred but open to a little farther. I’ll be car camping so primitive sites are fine as long as there’s a bathhouse. submitted by /u/Satan_S_R_US [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
