My friends and I want to end off our first year of university by going on a camping trip. There’s a huge group going, and two campsites booked for a provincial park in Ontario, Canada. However, the weather looks like it’s going to be terrible. There’s strong winds, heavy rain, and thunderstorms. I am not an experienced tent camper, supposed to have a multi-family weekend trip but planning on avoiding it. Curious if this is over-reacting or completely normal. Campground is in a large forest site with tall trees everywhere, close together. Its not really a well managed from a forestry standpoint. It is otherwise a nice family camp area. Weather will be thunderstorms likely all weekend, strongest during the late night/early morning. Wind gusts up to 38mph. Rain will be 100%.
