Fresh water tank hard to fill.

Posted about this prior on my 2016 forest river Cherokee 265b. Was told to check the hose routing and the vent tube. Today I pulled the belly panel off my trailer and had a look. Vent tube I removed completely and it was perfectly clear, from what I could see of the fill hose it looked fine with no low spots or kinks. While I have yet to try filling the tank, I think the issue is still present because if I use my mouth to blow air into the fill port, as soon as I remove my mouth I can hear/feel air coming back out of the fill port. Any ideas what else it could be before I take it to a dealer ..read more

1- Week Western US RV Road Trip

I'm in the brainstorming stage of planning a western US road trip. My wife an I live in NJ but my thoughts are to fly to a western city, rent a small RV for a week and hit the road. I'm looking for doable drives hitting mostly national parks. At this point, we don't have any dates nailed down, but it would be somewhere between October '24 and March '25. I (sadly) have never been anywhere west of St. Louis so am open to anything that doesn't involve significant time in big cities. We are both healthy and in good physical shape - hiking and such will be a part of this trip. It would just be the ..read more

So I bought this thing off FB marketplace, so far everything seems fine ish, (haven't checked the water lines, gas etc yet) but I've fixed a couple things, and we are currently doing a deep clean. Things I've fixed is the battery wiring, thing looked like they broke the leads and just never bothered to change em, which I guess is fine if you don't use the battery. Changed out the 7 pin plug for a new one for two reasons, one, I wanted to just get a fresh plug on there, and two I am having an issue with the driver side rail light, I cannot seem to get power to it (I've changed the whole light ..read more

Cheaper to Buy in Fall / Winter?

Hey y’all - curious if anyone has had experience comparing RV prices during spring / summer vs fall / winter. We’re looking at buying an RV, but we’re thinking we should wait until off season for better deals. I’m just not sure how much better deals are and if it’s worth the opportunity cost. Thanks for your help!! submitted by /u/superspartan999 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Adding Renogy 400W Solar Kit to an Existing 100W Panel Setup

Hey everyone, I'm looking to expand the solar setup on my trailer. It currently has a 100W solar panel, but unfortunately, I'm not sure about the brand as it came with the trailer. I'm considering purchasing the Renogy 400 Watt 12 Volt Premium kit, which includes four 100W panels and a 40A MPPT charge controller. My question is, can I add these four Renogy panels to my existing panel, or would it be better to remove the old panel and just use the new Renogy panels? Any advice on how to integrate these systems or whether it's advisable at all would be greatly appreciated! submitted by /u/Pl0m ..read more

Gen-y and Reese goosebox adapting to 14” wide kingpin plates

Okay - I get that only a handful of plates will allow you to slide and bolt in these two gooseball hitches for fifth wheel applications. The straight tube adapters (collar on kingpin, tube slid over collar) look manky to me and I can only imagine how much torque it would put on my deck (2005 36’ TS River Canyon with a Leland 7010 kingpin plate) every time I bounce. Both upper boxes on the gen-y and goosebox are 12” wide; my Leland sides are 14” apart. To adapt either hitch I would need a 1” plate between each side following along with some heavy drilling. Obviously this voids any warranty but ..read more

Maintenance

I have a 2021 C class Rv and one of my wheel pressure sensors stopped responding, possibly died sensor battery. I do most of all my maintenance on the RV, but the only thing I can’t do is getting my wheels balanced or alignment, anything to do with the wheels. Where can I go and get those things maintained or fixed? submitted by /u/Supertoy11 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Trying to see a Scamp! (CT)

Hey folks, I'm shopping for my first travel trailer and I am trying to see a Scamp in person before making any decisions. I am looking at the Sun-Lite 13 ltd, as well. However, something about the longevity of the scamp is appealing to me. However again, it seems the trade off is price and technology. As such, I'd really like to see a Scamp, in person, but I am not sure how to go about that here in CT... Unless someone happens to have one to show off? submitted by /u/Nosferatushy [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What's the nastiest thing someone has done at a dump station?

No, it's not dumping without gloves. After the person ahead of us finishes, he gets on his back on the sloped concrete area where the dump inlet is. He the then proceeds to scoot under his rig checking something. After he was done, he scooched back out, placed the sewer cap back the outlet then drove off. No hand washing. No change of clothes. As we watched from inside our vehicle, we got half sick thinking about what could be on that concrete. submitted by /u/tazzytazzy [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Looking for Quality & Functionality

I am looking for a new trailer that is of good quality and packs a lot of functionality in a small size. I have done a lot of research, narrowing it down to a few manufacturers. Now I’d like to get community feedback from owners or those that included any of these in their evaluation. Nucamp - t@b 320 s, 400, or barefoot Intech - SOL eclipse Safari Condo - ALTO r1723 (if I can find one in the US) Also, have not completely ruled out Casita but prefer the ones above. Any experiences you could share would be helpful! Also, happy to share more of my requirements but I have narrowed down to thes ..read more
