The annual event held at Kuba park is always a haven for food lovers seeking plant-based delights. This year showcased a diverse range of vegan cuisine, many from our favourite Oslo based restaurants such as Monsun, Eat Happy Vegan, Håndbakt + Nordvegan. LOCO is a project launching a concept-store that has become every vegan’s dream: an 100% plant based grocery chain in Scandinavia. The first store will be opened in Oslo in 2021, and if all goes according to plan (fingers crossed!) the rest of Scandinavia will follow in the upcoming years.  The founders are four passionate Norwegians pursuing the goal of making veganism accessible to all. They want to help people by stopping the time wasted checking labels to see if the products are vegan. By creating an only-vegan supermarket, consumers would be able to find everything they need in one p ..read more

In Norway there are over ten brands that make several plant-based meat alternatives. Among them we find burgers, mince, sausages, nuggets, and veggieballs. This is ideal for anyone that wants to reduce meat consumption or quit animal products. In this article I’m going to brainstorm some of the pros and cons of plant-based meat options available in our stores and I will finish with a reflection about the use of these products. If you would like to learn more about mock meat from a nutritional approach, Fueled by Science has a simple yet well explained article in this regard.  When is mock ..read more

Last month Naturli opened its first plant-based café in Oslo. Located in Skøyen -it’s extremely easy to get there by public transport-, all their meals are made with their own products. They are open 7-17 (10-16) and the menu includes smoothie bowls, salad bowls and burgers.  Naturli is a Danish brand that creates vegan products and promotes improving our eating habits. They use slogans such as “Be the change” or “There is no planet B”, and their idea is also to use this café as an innovation center for testing new Naturli’ products.  THE PLACE  Open, industrial ish but cozy. You may have heard rumours about the new all plant based fine dining restaurant Silk Road at Skillebekk or perhaps you’ve visited their street food stall at Torggata Bad and are wondering what all the fuss is about.
