Your dog may disagree about what is and is not a training tool. But you will hold firm on no TP. Collars, harnesses, and leashes. For most of our dogs, it is good to use the same equipment for walks, hikes, or classes. Occasionally we will use a longer or shorter leash for different activities. Question: Professor Boo, I have an 11 year old female German Shepherd and a 10 month old baby at home. My dog has always been friendly towards my baby girl and usually kisses her and licks her a lot. Does that mean she might bite her? I love my dog dearly but my baby comes first. What do I do? Pinball gets to see that ..read more

A family adopted a six-month-old puppy who was anxious and afraid. When she was introduced to the family’s young cousins (four-years and eleven-months — TODDLERS) she seemed curious but then barked and lunged at them when they made any sudden movements. Even dogs who have had good experi ..read more

Stress is a biological response to external stimuli. Stress is the body answering the question – should I fight, flee, freeze, or fawn when in the presence of a real or perceived threat? Puppy Porthos’ first day in his new home – very scared. He didn’t know how much he was going to be loved Things that stress our dogs can include: Separation/being alone. Sounds – like thunder, fireworks, or one of my dogs was terrified of the sound fire alarms make when the batter is low. Strangers – in the home, approaching the home, or out on walks.
