Caring for a Senior Dog: Adapting to Suit Their Aging Needs
Dog Mom Days Blog

There is nothing quite like earning the love of a senior dog. Senior dogs are wise, affectionate, and they can amaze us well into their golden years. Dogs require care similar to humans and vehicles – preventative maintenance can keep them all going for a long time! However, in my case, I adopted a senior dog when she was already 12 years old. I honestly didn’t think Penny would make for more than a year with me due to the rough condition she was in when I rescued her. But with TLC, medication, and a new routine to suit her aging needs, Penneth Snoodle McSnackerson (Aka Penny) turns 15 years ..read more

It’s no secret that I don’t post on Dog Mom Days regularly anymore. In fact, I don’t even use social media on a consistent basis. Life has been very different ever since Wynston got attacked in 2020. But we didn’t let the incident stop us. Actually, quite the contrary. We’ve been living part time in our van since then, and traveling the country. Although we plan to mostly stick around Arizona in 2022 due to ridiculous inflation and fuel prices, you can still keep up with our adventures on my YouTube channel Adventuring With Amanda. Here’s a peek of what we’ve been up to: Please subscribe to o ..read more

We Adopted a New Family Member!

It’s been 6 months since my cats passed away, and the grief was almost unbearable at times. They always say the hardest part of pet ownership is losing them. That’s an understatement. I was raised with cats, so believe it or not, I have always gravitated toward cats. Losing my babies made me realize how much I need a cat in my life. Our feline friends own a piece of my heart. I went to my favorite Arizona shelter when I felt “ready” – Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL) to look for a new cat. Summer was kitten season, and I knew I wanted a kitten for a few reasons. I’ve adopted adult cats bef ..read more

On June 19, 2020, I purchased my 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. On the same day, exactly one day later, I purchased a 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan. Funny how life seems to work out… The number one question I’ve gotten is, “What was wrong with your other van?” The answer is simple – nothing! I love my maroon van, and it’s in good shape! But it was time for an upgrade with all of the traveling and living Wynston and I are continuing to do in the van. I will be keeping the maroon caravan until I am ready to sell it, or give it away (which I plan to do if I’m on track to hit 100,000 YouTube subscribers in ..read more

Updates and 2021 Summer Travel Plans!
Dog Mom Days Blog

Wynston and I have been incredibly busy already in 2021, and we’re about to leave for the summer! At 32 years old I’ve officially become a snowbird, so Wyn and I are headed north for the treacherously hot Arizona months. Our original plan was to visit Washington and Oregon this summer, but that’s changed. Due to absolutely absurd politics and mask mandates, I decided to completely avoid the PNW. Instead, we’ll spend substantial time in Montana, then make our way east to the Dakotas. We will also be joining family in Wisconsin at a cabin around my birthday in July. Wynston and I are no longer a ..read more

My dreams are finally coming true. After years of planning and decades of imagining RV life, Wynston and I are hitting the road for five months! We will be living in our minivan camper conversion as we traverse the Pacific Northwest region. We took a 6 week road trip last year, and that was the happiest I’ve ever been! Now it’s time to step up our game! Since I do not update this blog as much anymore, I want everyone to know where they can follow Wynston and I. We are not active on Facebook anymore, so he have switched our main personal content to Instagram. I am also a YouTuber now, so you ca ..read more

I’ll get straight to the point – I launched a new website! With the help of Virtuhub, amandayantos.com is now up and running! In the last 8 months or so, I have branched out from Dog Mom Days to pursue other passions, including van life (with Wynston, of course!). I decided it was time to set up a portfolio website of sorts. Dog Mom Days will continue to exist, so don’t worry! My new website will be the main hub for everything I focus on in life – that being a traveling creator and dog mom. In conjunction with my new website, I’m working on publishing my book, as well as growing my successful ..read more
