27 yo 5’6 female HW 220 lbs CW 180 lbs GW 140 lbs. I don’t know if I am happy or sad about this but recently I have started looking much much thinner and since I got into skincare a few months ago my skin has been glowing. And I see people treating me SO MUCH BETTER. No one ever greeted me or complimented me before, now people are just nicer and sweeter in general. I am being complemented and offered help by all kinds of men while carrying groceries bags in my pajamas. This makes me feel sad about how people perceived me before and it genuinely is sad how materialistic the world is! Yes, of c ..read more

How to est healthier when I live with parents?

Hi! Okay so I'm currently 15 y/o and I'm trying to loose a bit of weight. I exercise and everything like that but I still have the problems with my dinner. My parents, and I mean no harm in this, are overweight and tend to not eat the healthiest. Dinner is the biggest meal in my house and makes me, without fail, go over my calorie limit. Before anyone recommends it, talking to them about this is not an option. My mum is convinced I'm starving myself and this will just add to her fears. If I eat any less than I do at dinner then it has the same effect. I've tried OMAD but apparently that's bad ..read more

How to start a weight loss journey??

Hiiiii. I'm trying to start a weight loss journey of some sort. Recently, I've tried to start committing, but school keeps getting in the way, so I'm hoping that when summer comes around, I can really "lock in" and follow a tighter schedule. I'm not considered overweight but I would like to reduce some fat in my lower body (I KNOW spot reducing isn't a things) and tone up a bit. Another thing is that I really struggle to lose weight in my lower body (thighs/calves) and sometimes I can see my ribs (if I'm lifting my arms), yet, the fat in my legs is very stubborn. I'm pretty sure that this is ..read more

Week one calorie counting

I’m trying to count and cut a few calories. Starting off small cutting 250 calories or so combined through eating and exercise. 1500 calories per day. Thoughts so far: It’s hard to think about so much. What to eat? How much protein? How many calories? What to make? What to buy? Remember to drink water. Etc. It’s not that hard to pause and log. It’s only tough when I eat out which I’m trying not to do. Weekends are tough because eating is my social activity. Just try not eat less while out. If you are petite you have a very small amount of allowable calories. It sucks. I know I’ll get used to ..read more

For the first time in my life I’m not “low functioning “

I’ve struggled with depression all of my life. I guess it’s called “major depressive disorder” my apartment is always a pigsty, I work and go home and lay in bed and go to work again, I ate like crap (literally fast food every single meal and door dashing multiple times a day, I’d probably eat 3k-5k calories a day) I have no friends no hobbies. For the past couple months I’ve been working out every week and even multiple times a week, when before I would go for about a week and just give up. I started taking vitamins and meditations every day and not just “forget” like I used to. I’ve kept my ..read more

Double chin gone overnight?

Hopefully this doesn't come off sounding as profoundly stupid as I think it does... I'm 270lbs, 5'5". Down 20lbs since December. I've noticed some changes in my face, fingers and now my chin. I'm low-moderately active, and consuming less sugar and almost no alcohol anymore. I had a slight double chin up until this morning, when I looked in the mirror and saw it was gone? My chin still isn't defined, and my face isn't quite done slimming down yet, but I've seen the weightloss in my cheeks for about a month now. My questions are: Am I being delusional, will it come back, and has anyone else had ..read more

Timing for follow-up DEXA scan?

A little while ago I (5'1 31F 141lbs) made a post asking about if other folks' concern with my GW (110-115lbs) was justified based on my body composition. I decided to get a DEXA scan to get a clearer sense of what GW would be reasonable, taking into consideration my body comp. Well, I had that scan today and oof! My BF% was 39.5%! Honestly, I was a little gobsmacked that it was that high, but this is a good piece of information and reassures me that my initial GW is within reason (I used this calculator to determine that if all of the weight I lose comes from body fat, I will be around 25% B ..read more

Nursing school reject update!

Almost a year ago I posted here about getting rejected from nursing school, and how all I could think about was binge eating to make myself feel better, but how I used the opportunity to work at not comforting myself with food. This sub was really instrumental in providing positive feedback! Just figured I'd update anyone who remembers: I just found out yesterday that I was accepted into my first choice nursing program! I'm absolutely over the moon. In the last year I've lost almost 70 lbs, and in twoish years I'm going to be a freakin nurse! Thanks for all of the support you all offer people ..read more

For starters, I’m 23F, currently around 179lbs and 5’4”. I started the very 1st of February with CICO at 195lbs, and I was almost 200 in June. My calorie intake is around 1250-1450 depending on the day, while I do maybe up to 1600 on weekends to help with larger meals with family and friends. I have been trying to do around a 30min walk 3-4 days of the week (when nice out), a 10min exercise routine that’s mostly squats, lunges, and overall lower body workout. I do incorporate full body stuff on some days when I feel up for it, so some exercise days can be up to 30mins. I lose around 1lb a wee ..read more

Short background: In 2020 while temporarily unemployed I decided to start a journey starting at 365lbs and got down to 275 before messing up. Afterwards, stress and differing jobs made me unmotivated enough to go back to 345lbs. This year with a now hopefully much more permanent job I decided to start again, currently down to 305 with just calorie counting. During the 2020 stint I also bought an exercise bike which since then had only been standing around and acting as a coat rack. Today I decided to start using it again, and while it was only for 7 minutes (could have gone longer but didn't ..read more
