Liverpool are reportedly back in the race to sign previous target Khephren Thuram from OGC Nice. The dynamic midfielder was heavily linked with a move to Anfield in the summer before the Reds moved on to other targets, but Italian outlet Tutto Juve reports that the 22-year-old is back on Jurgen Klopp’s radar, with the club potentially still in the market for a number six. Liverpool signed Wataru Endo after missing out on both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, but an out-of-position Alexis Mac Allister has been selected as the holding midfielder for the majority of outings this season, leading to ..read more

Liverpool have been dealt a tough blow with the news that Alisson is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury in the 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Saturday. The goalkeeper appeared to be suffering with an issue in the closing minutes of the clash at the Etihad, and was immediately seen to by the club’s medical team following the full-time whistle. The injury is not as bad as initially feared but it is likely to keep Allison out of action for around two weeks. Caoimhin Kelleher will be expected to take his place between the sticks until he is ready to return. Diogo Jota al ..read more

Liverpool’s long-held admiration for Fluminense’s Andre Trindade may come to nothing as talks with Fulham gain momentum, according to reports from the Daily Mail. The Brazilian midfielder, heavily linked with Liverpool in the summer, is now believed to be inching closer to a move to Craven Cottage, posing a potential setback for the Reds. The summer transfer window saw Liverpool unable to tempt Andre to Anfield, with Fluminense’s focus firmly on their Copa Libertadores campaign which ended in victory over Boca Juniors in the final. Now, with the Copa Libertadores Brazilian Serie A season both ..read more

The three-match suspension handed to Curtis Jones following a contentious red card decision during his team’s recent 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur is set to stand, after an appeal against the decision failed. The incident occurred when Jones received what was initially a yellow card from the match referee. However, the use of VAR (Video Assistant Referee) technology prompted a comprehensive review of the tackle, which eventually led to a change in the decision – the yellow card was upgraded to a red card, causing uproar among Liverpool supporters. The Merseyside club, not willing to accept t ..read more

The highest profile transfer saga of the summer looks like it could be reaching a conclusion, with Chelsea finally submitting an offer for Moises Caicedo after almost three days of dallyinh. The Stamford Bridge club had been linked with a move for the Brighton midfielder all summer, but it looked like Liverpool had stolen the player at the last minute when the Reds had a £111 million bid accepted. A medical for the player was already booked, but despite the club insisting they acted on the indication that the player would be open to a move, Caicedo’s camp decided to hold out to see if Chelsea ..read more

Much has been made of Liverpool’s need for a number six following the surprise departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, leaving youngster Stefan Bajcetic as the only player in the squad to naturally fill the role. For the past week or so all attention has been on Southampton’s Romeo Lavia. The Reds have made a succession of bids that have edged closer to the south coast outfit’s £50 million valuation, and it was hoped a deal could be wrapped up before the Premier League kicks off again this weekend. A bid for Lavia from Chelsea yesterday made some question if the miserly attitude shown by t ..read more

Liverpool have unveiled their highly-anticipated away kit for the upcoming 2023-24 season. Paying homage to the club’s rich history, the kit draws inspiration from the iconic away shirt of the 1995-96 season while incorporating modern elements to create a truly unique and visually stunning design. The focal point of the kit is the striking combination of white and green, which forms a quarter-patterned jersey. The collar and cuffs, however, deviate from this colour scheme, donning an elegant black finish that adds a touch of class to the overall aesthetic. The kit has undergone a digital effec ..read more

Can Clyne come back in from the cold?
Kopworld

Nathaniel Clyne has become a forgotten member of the Liverpool squad. The England international has barely featured since returning from the back injury that ruled him out for most of last season. He managed to make five appearances last season, but has faded into obscurity since. And a few Reds are beginning to ask why that might be. Clyne has been at Anfield since the Summer of 2015, when the club paid Southampton a reasonable fee of £12.5m to make him a part of Brendan Rodgers’ squad. He didn’t play under the man who signed him for long, with the Northern Irishman being sacked a couple of ..read more

Remembering Gérard Houllier

It was the first game of the season and I got into Anfield earlier than usual ahead of our first game of the 1998/99 season against league champions Arsenal. Liverpool had long fallen away from their position of title favourites they’d carried for the previous 20 years and had seen the title change hands between Arsenal, Leeds, Man Utd and even Blackburn Rovers throughout a decade in which clubs jostled to take the Reds crown as the dominant force of English football. The 1990s was a tough decade for the club with only an FA Cup win in 1992 and a League Cup win in 1994 as the understandable mo ..read more
