Stories of a Stay at Home Mom

Charley Kate just turned 6. And while she is one of the most amazing little kids I know, I am not blogging anymore to do her justice. So trust me- she is hard working and smart and athletic and funny and nurturing and kind! She is beautiful and pint sized and strong. And her stats are Height: 44.5 in (37%) Weight: 40.2 lbs (23%) BMI: 14.27 (22%) BP: 101/63 Pulse: 100 And I apparently don’t have Jay’s 6 year stats anywhere to compare. So here those are too.. Jay at 6 Height: 49.5 in (98%) Weight: 59.8 lbs (95%) BMI: 17 (87%) BP: 109/74 Pulse: 84 Thankful for healthy kids ..read more

Swim Team 2017!
Stories of a Stay at Home Mom

This year we had TWO Squillante swimmers on swim team! Jay AND Charley Kate! We knew Jay was going to have a fun season because he is so natural in the water and at the top of his age group. I wasn't sure about Charley Kate and didn't know that she could swim a full length without stopping or under the required 55 second time limit. But at her first time trial when she went 37 seconds, I knew we were going to have a LOT of fun watching her too! And the best part, they are in the same age group this year and got to swim at the same practice time- hallelujah! So each day for the month of May a ..read more

The Baby is ONE!
Stories of a Stay at Home Mom

It is so hard for me to believe our last baby is ONE! Never again will we have a baby in the house! No more counting by months when people ask how old they are. No more infant anything. Almost all the baby toys and gear are gone. I have packed up my pump. This is just crazy and weird and exciting all at the same time. It's no surprise to anyone who has read this for any amount of time that I am not a baby person, nor am I a fan of the baby stage. I wondered when my last baby turned one how I would really feel. Would there be some sadness or longing that I wasn't aware of? And honestly, th ..read more

I have no clue how this entire school year has already gone by. Seriously?! I think I was so sleep deprived and just trying to keep my head above water that somehow I blinked and and it's already summer again. I feel like the thought of summer gives me slight PTSD considering last summer I gave birth to my fourth and and hardest baby, but I am so hopeful that this summer is going to be better than ever! (And I am PRAYING) I think of how much the kids have grown in the last year and I truly can't wrap my mind around this!  Jay has had an amazing kindergarten year. He has grown leaps a ..read more

Molly is Three!

Good golly, Miss Molly is THREE! I don't know how this happened. It's like it just snuck up on me! I still feel like she's my little almost two year old just toddling around with me wherever I go. But somehow, the days have gone by and she's this THREE year old little girl! Molly makes our family so much more FUN. She has a smile and laugh and sense of humor that keeps us all going. She's silly and creative and somehow knows just how to make us laugh when we need it most. She gets away with so much more than the other kids would have... tired parents or too many kids or something. But th ..read more

It's So Close!

Oh. My. Gosh. The baby is almost a year old! Seriously, I am one month away from not having a "baby" ever again. This is mind blowing and exciting and sad all at the same time. At the beginning of Kelsey's little life, I just never thought we'd get to 11 months. The needy baby stage seemed never ending! But now it's over and she's becoming more like a toddler and less like a baby. At 11 months, Kelsey... -Is wearing all size 12 month clothes and a lot of those are getting snug in the length! She is a tall girl! -Wearing size 4 diapers -Wearing size 4 shoes... and because she has been ..read more

Spring Break 2k17
Stories of a Stay at Home Mom

We had SO much fun for Spring Break this year! I finally felt back to my old Courtney-self and ready for an adventure! I loaded up the kids on a Sunday afternoon and drove to Dripping Springs (by myself!)! We made one pit stop in the middle of the trip there (and survived!). But all the kids did a great job in the car. We got to my sister's house in DS and the kids were SOOO excited to see their cousins! It was a beautiful night and the kids all had a blast playing together! The next morning we headed to the Austin Zoo- which is awesome and tiny. The weather stunk but the kids had fun. T ..read more
