As the title says, I was doing some homework and about 2 hours in I realized I had a small crack in the bottom right corner of my screen along with some flickering along bottom. Other than it being a bit annoying, the mac is still functional. I have finals coming up in 2 weeks and am wondering whether I could keep using the mac without crack spreading too far since I don’t have the luxury of waiting for it to get repaired. Thoughts? Hi. Not sure whether to post this on the dropbox sub or the mac one. We have a shared dropbox folder at work, and a lot of shared assets (images etc). I'm building a library of them on airtable, but when I add a link to an asset, it my name into the pathname. Its a right faff for other people to delete that and add their own. How do I get round this? is there a way of creating a pathname so that whoever opens it, it replaces that username with theirs? Hello! What is the best and easy backup solution if the mac gets stolen or the internal hdd dies? I want to be able to be up and running again in short time exactly like it was before, all settings, addons, everything. It seems like Apple has started to make it alot harder to use a external bootable disk if the internal one dies. In the old days with my mid 2014 MBP i used: Time machine for backups and CC5 to have a full clone (1:1) bootable disk if my macbook got stolen or damaged. My system today is a Macbook Air M3. I found a 2023 Macbook Pro for £1,000 cheaper on Facebook marketplace. The guy is selling it brand-new, photos look legit and it's unopened. I managed to find the serial number of the product, and checked the coverage on the Apple website and it seems legit. He listed the Macbook 14 days ago and on the Apple coverage, it says it has 46 days of Apple care left and it says the Macbook was bought in April this year on the Apple website. Hello everyone. I’m so sorry for posting it. So I bought MacBook Pro M3 and it arrived just today I decided to get this one after all the other laptops I bought broke down after a few days (overheating etc). I chose Apple because of their reliability and I've run into a problem with a new machine, I'm desperate.
