A new blazer?
Maybe pinstripe, maybe grey, or maybe colour.
Please, just not black.

I dare not admit this.
I want some platforms.
It’s not my first rodeo in these ankle breakers and heaven help me trying to navigate them 20 years on. I will though. I need a shake-up – too many sweats and hoodies since lockdown and fashion malaise has set in. It’s time I stood taller and tackled a heel.
Except for one thing.
I need to modify the look slightly or I will end up in A & E. I’ll wear a platform but not the 10-inch designer skyscrapers I’m seeing. While I think they are very “of the moment” and will update the older wardrobe pieces I am not sure they are a large investment es ..read more

A new blazer?
Maybe pinstripe, maybe grey, or maybe colour – please, just not black.
What about cream? Or a light shade to work with darker pants? I feel like a classic but not necessarily a full-on tailored twist.
I’m definitely going cream.
Add a pair of black pants and a floaty blouse or a button up and I’m set.
I have a Christening coming up and I think this is where I am headed. I don’t need a brand new head-to-toe outfit, just a touch up. The cream blazer and a pretty blouse should be just about right. Think old school gamour meets feminine plus a little masculine on the side.

I’m Not sure about the word resolution.
Resolutions – somewhat hard to stick to. Perhaps intention or goal would be more apt? I don’t like the thought of any more added pressure; we all have plenty of that. What about nurture?
What should we focus on?
Yes to trying new products and making our make-up experience more adventurous – that never hurts.
I’m thinking on a deeper level if we want to nurture and find ourselves in a strong and positive place. Reading over my words on beauty, this little book is such a positive reinforcement. Even though the words are by me and from my heart, I need r ..read more

It changes for me.
I go through moods, crushes, fads – whatever we like to call them – but most of the time they flow full circle.
This season it will definitely be a chunky boot and as much as I like the idea of dresses every day that is probably not only impractical but also a bit of a fantasy. It doesn’t mean I don’t love the more feminine with the masculine combat/Chelsea style boots – I do – but we need a manageable alternative.
So back I run and where?
The turtleneck, the jeans, or tailored pants but this time a slightly wider and shorter version. Skinnies are gone so for me it will b ..read more

Did you tell your mother?
I’ll backtrack a little.
I saw an amusing reel of a woman explaining to her mother how she was letting her natural hair come in and forgoing the coloring process. She was nervous, had all the reasons under the sun and made me giggle with her roundabout way of fessing up. What her performance highlighted to me was the difference in the way we see ourselves and our mothers see us.
How do your mothers feel about the trend to wear our hair naturally?
My mother would never have let her hair be seen as grey. Was it a generational trend, a personal preference or a vanity s ..read more
