Should I list projects I've been apart of on Film Freeway or just projects I want to submit to festivals?

Title pretty much. I know there's an option to edit your filmography but should I do that on my profile or just upload a resume/website? Will having a filmography on Film Freeway incline festivals to accept your film or does it not matter? submitted by /u/editor_a_l [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

You’ve got to be a bit loopy to pursue a career in film. I’ve accepted this lol. That said… What are some of your favorite memories on set that made you feel like “Ah, this IS what I’m meant to be doing” submitted by /u/slickfox21 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How to shoot on actual film?

Every time I go into thrift shops, I try to find 8mm cameras or any kind of video camera that shoots on film. But if I got one, I wouldn't really know how to use it. I'm a professional videographer on digital, but I know nothing about shooting on print. What are the basics. What do I need to know? submitted by /u/ACrazedRodent [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Short films that use spaces/rooms like Radioheads Daydreaming video

Hey ho! I’m trying to do a short film in the next couple of weeks for my architecture project. In a nutshell it’s about collaging spaces together from two houses that sit on different sides of a border with themes of memory, nostalgia, weaving narratives. I was recommended this reference by a filmmaker friend. And absolutely loved it. I was wonder if there are other shorts where rooms and spaces become the characters or have an air of magic realism Thank you! submitted by /u/charjerr [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How can I do stopmotion?

I recently got into filmmaking, but I have no actors to act in my short film (sadly). I also can't bear the cringiness of acting myself and watching it. So I thought of using stopmotion and paper cutouts of figures. However, I don't have a camera to do this. A few years ago, I downloaded a free stopmotion app, but I never had a proper tripod and didn't have a remote (I knew there was a rule where I should not to touch the camera). I tried using a timer, but my hand was always in the frame because I was too slow. P.S. The result was really bad, so I quit. But now I'm back again. Any advice on ..read more
