Arrrowhead Game Studios' made an impact on Newzoo's revenue and engagement charts for February.
The research firm today released its February monthly engagement and revenue charts for games across the PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch in the US and UK, showing the PC and PS5 shooter had topped the revenue chart and finished just outside the top 10 in the list of games with the most monthly active users.

With the current economic recession and the layoffs, Iron Galaxy Studios co-CEO Adam Boyes tells GamesIndustry.biz that it's a daunting time right now.
"Any time we see headlines like we're seeing regularly, I think it's scary for everyone in the games industry. It's got to be scary obviously for people that work at studios because the future isn't clear," says Boyes.

The modern era of virtual reality as we know it started around June of 2012, when John Carmack brought the Oculus Rift to the Electronic Entertainment Expo and showed it off to attendees with Doom 3 BFG Edition.
It ramped up quickly that August with the launch of the Oculus Rift Kickstarter campaign, which featured testimonials from industry legends like Carmack, Valve's Gabe Newell and Michael Abrash, Epic's Cliff Bleszinski, Unity's David Helgason, and David Helgason's popped collar. That campaign started with a $250,000 goal, and ended its run with more than $2.4 million from backers.

Yellow Brick Games is parting ways with Private Division to self-publish its first game.
Set for release in 2025, the untitled game is a fantasy action-adventure that's been in development for four years.
A short teaser for the title was released yesterday, and will be fully unveiled on April 2 as an IGN first.

Thunderful has entered an agreement to sell Headup for €500,000.
The German-based developer and publisher is being bought by Microcuts Holding, which is controlled by Headup founder and CEO Dieter Schoeller, who is also Thunderful's vice president of production.
Thunderful initially acquired Headup for €11 million in 2021.

Don't Nod has announced a new studio organisation structured around its three genres of predilection: RPG, narrative adventure, and action adventure.
The company will now be organised in three branches named after these genres, with the aim being to emphasise its expertise in these titles and reflect its role as both a developer and publisher.

This year's Game Developers Conference saw nearly 30,000 people in attendance, its organisers announced.
By comparison, last year saw 28,000 attendees visit San Francisco's Moscone Center.
GDC 2024 featured over 1,000 speakers and 325 exhibitors, in addition to 730 workshops and roundtable discussions.

Sega has sold Relic Entertainment, and will cut 240 roles across Sega Europe, Creative Assembly and Sega HARDlight
Relic is best known for the Company of Heroes and Dawn of War games, and recently developed the new Age of Empires for Microsoft. Relic will transition to an independent studio and will no-longer be part of the Sega group of studios.
The majority of the 240 job cuts are across Creative Assembly and Sega Europe, while there will be a ‘small number’ cut from Sega HARDLight. There was no mention of other Sega UK studios, including Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive.
