Turn On The Jets

For most Jets fans, the 1997-2011 period is considered the glory years. For any fan, particularly fans in my age bracket (I’m 36 – wow it hurts to say that sometimes), this was the sweet spot for us. That 1997 season quickly turned the Jets from laughingstock to a serious team followed by years of sustained success and quality decision-making. Think about this: during those 15 seasons, the Jets were able to be .500 or better 12 times, make the playoffs 7 times, and win the division twice. Now, any fan would give his left you-know-what to just see the Jets logo in the “In the Hunt” graphic on S ..read more

With the 10th pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select, WR, Garrett Wilson from THE Ohio State University. The 2nd-year play-caller aims to build on a very stellar rookie campaign in the booth. Mike LaFleur came to New York as a package deal with the big man in charge, Robert Saleh, and they look to cement their legacies for Gang Green. LaFleur grew up in Mount Pleasant, Michigan with his older brother, Matt (Current Head Coach of the Packers). Athletics were a strong suit in the LaFleur household, as Mike’s father, Denny was a collegiate football player at Central Michigan, eventually becoming a football coach. This was clearly an inspiration for Mike, as he would follow an eerily similar career ..read more

The trend does not change, as he takes a player that many thought was the best in this class only a few months ago and fills a massive need for the Jets defense ..read more

(yes, this is being published on a Wednesday) The draft is nearly 2 weeks away and we are going to hear a ton of rumors and rumblings about what is going to happen. Most of which will be lies but let’s talk about some prospects with a mock draft from TOJ Live’s co-host Stephen Zantz. Before we dive into my mock, I wanted to offer the caveat that this mock was done using the PFF simulator and I was making selections based on what I would do with how the board was falling. I will make it clear that Kayvon Thibodeaux would be my pick at 4 if he’s available. Unfortunately he was not so let’s get t ..read more
