Andrew Tate said it was gay to enjoy sex with women and was fact checked til he farted

Time now to return to the grim personification of the toxic manosphere, Andrew Tate (only for a short while, honest). You might remember it’s only a few days since Tate said men’s ‘genetic potential’ was being stumped ‘by the whims of some singular female,’ suggesting you were a proper loser if you didn’t have at least 30 kids (Tate has none). Dear white men. You’re fucked. You’re being replaced because none of you have children. Even those of you bitching about the replacement online like little girls don’t find the gumption to fuck. I see white men bragging about having 5 kids as if it’s an ..read more

Marjorie Taylor Greene took aim at Ukrainians going out drinking and having fun and these soldiers’ response was the only one you need

To the world of the conspiracy theorists’ conspiracy theorist, Marjorie ‘never knowingly over-informed’ Taylor Greene, who’s not happy with the latest aid package just approved for Ukraine. The US will send $61bn in military aid for Ukraine, with Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer declaring: “After more than six months of hard work and many twists and turns in the road, America sends a message to the entire world: we will not turn our back on you.” But Greene reckons the money is a ‘betrayal of America’ because, well, look. In most countries who are under attack, bars and restaur ..read more

This Fox News presenter didn’t think through his Donald Trump-King Kong comparison and it was quite the self-own

Fox News presenter Jesse Watters was predictably distressed by the sight of Donald Trump’s criminal trial, the former US president making history when he was charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. Watters said they were treating Trump like a zoo creature, staring at him in the dock (or ‘cage’ as he preferred to call it) and even compared the once (and future?) president to King Kong. Except it was a comparison that Watters hadn’t thought through to its logical conclusion, and it was really rather fabulous. Watters: They trapped him in a cage. we call it a courtroom but ..read more

BBC London asked people what they’d change about their local area and this woman’s fabulously honest response was 10/10

We’re not such a big fan of the Vox pop where a newspaper or TV station go out and collect people’s opinions about a question or issue of the day (it’s even worse when you have to ask the question, trust us). But every now and again a little gem crops up, and this is one of those occasions. It’s a BBC London reporter asking people in the west of the capital what they’d do with £1 million and what they’d change about their local area if they were mayor, that kinda thing. And wait for the woman in green, if you wouldn’t mind.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by BBC Londo ..read more

You’ll have seen by now the story of the five runaway horses that brought central London to a standstill on Wednesday. Two of the military horses from the Household Cavalry are in a ‘serious condition after injuring themselves running through the rush-hour streets of the capital, with four people taken to hospital. An update following this morning’s incident with Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment horses in London. Three of our soldiers are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Our horses are also safe, and are undergoing veterinary care. (1/2) pic.twitter.com/ljJCF6NP7A — British ..read more

You won’t need a reminder of the sheer genius of the late Victoria Wood or her brilliant BBC sitcom, Dinnerladies, but we’re going to do it anyway. It’s this 19 seconds from the BBC comedy which ran from 1998 to 2000 which has just gone viral on Twitter and it’s simply magnificent. It was shared by write and biographer James Hogg who said it was ‘the funniest chat up line ever committed to anything’. Behold, the funniest chat up line ever committed to anything. If I’d written this I’d have retired immediately, smug as hell. Good evening. pic.twitter.com/Gk7tXdbTa6 — James Hogg (@JamesAHogg2 ..read more

The Telegraph’s outraged St. George’s Day column reminded everyone of this classic Stewart Lee routine

We sometimes suspect the Telegraph is running an extended programme of trolling, via the medium of increasingly bizarre column headings. Recent examples include – ‘Gen Z are an employer’s nightmare – my twenties put them to shame’ ‘I don’t need my sexuality affirmed at a railway station – I just want the trains to run on time’ ‘The NHS is killing us – it is an enemy of Britain’ In honour of St. George’s Day on Tuesday, former UKIP MEP Patrick O’Flynn had this public rant. There was a healthy amount of scepticism and scorn. 1. From Patrick O’Flynn’s prison diaries pic.twitter.com/z9Te4FNQcV ..read more

These proud Brits tried to explain how their country had been taken away and were owned into next year

It’s not so long ago that St George’s Day used to pass without much comment, little more than a footnote on the page in your diary (which you don’t use anymore either). But now it’s become a rallying cry for proud Brits – from England, obviously – to take to the streets to celebrate their heritage and talk about how they’re no longer allowed to celebrate their heritage, that sort of thing. And these particular patriots were asked to explain by Times Radio exactly how their country had been taken away for them, and it’s hilarious and infuriating but most of all plain flabbergasting. “I’ve had ..read more

A three-year-old meme that began on 4chan has been attracting attention on Twitter/X – and not all of it positive. The trend for posts that ask people to look between particular letters on their keyboards has had Twitter/X users entertained, baffled, amused and irritated, but not necessarily in that order or in equal measures. Here’s how the original looked on 4chan, back in 2021 – They will never beat the original https://t.co/9VlE3UGmGS pic.twitter.com/vQ8qlCTpT9 — Macaroni (@KeionDaisuki_01) April 20, 2024 It shows Yui Hirasawa of the K-ON! anime series, and makes a certain amount of sens ..read more

Here are a bunch of very funny and totally on the money putdowns which we’ll definitely be sticking in our back pocket to use at an appropriate moment or two. It all started when u/Ed_mutts_nuts asked this over on Reddit. What’s a good ‘As useless as?’ And by way of a little background, they added this. ‘I love the English language and our creations. Someone came out with as useless as a woodpecker with rubber lips at a co-worker today. Cracked me up. Any more really original ones?’ And people responded with lots of really original ones, together with some classic golden oldies which will ..read more
