Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
This week Darnell's I.D.E.A.S is Embossing.
She's come up with this fun way to start off the week with a starting point
for a card.
I've embossed a piece of Black Mixed Media paper and added a bit of
watercolor with Metallic Watercolor Paint to the raised parts.
I thought it made a very dramatic background and added some die cut leaves
over top. I love how the die embosses the leaves as it cuts.

Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
Today's card came from my UFO box. It was from this calendar page.
I'm not sure if it was from the actual calendar or if it was a test piece.
It's been in there for a long time.
I didn't like the colors and with nothing to lose, I decided to color over it with my
Ohuhu markers to see if I could improve it. I was glad I did.
I added some gold foil mini dots to the center and some gold splatter and
a sentiment from the stash.
The background piece had been set aside because I got overzealous with splatters.
I decided it wasn't so bad ..read more

Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I am loving the colors that Cindy chose for Color Hues #84, Peach and Green.
I was going through some of my dies a while back and found this die that I'd forgotten about.
So I put it in my "need to use" pile. These colors worked perfectly for it.
I had the outline already cut from white cardstock in the envelope and cut another
from a scrap of mixed media paper, keeping the inside pieces intact.
I love coloring die cuts and one of my favorite ways to do it is sitting on a piece of
mixed media paper so my over-wash gives me a perfectly co ..read more

Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
It's color week at Just Us Girls and the colors make me think of Halloween,
but I went in a different direction. The colors? Purple, Orange and Mustard!
I pressed some Wilted Violet on my craft mat and spritzed with water to smoosh the
bottom portion of a mixed media panel, dried it and smooshed some more. Then I
pressed Villainous Potion on my mat and repeated for a little contrast.
I used the same technique on the the top portion with Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade.
Then to figure out what to put on the piece?

Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I have a stack of Betterpress designs waiting to be colored. It seems like there's
always something else that needs to be done and coloring gets put aside.
With a color choice of peach and green, I had to push life out of the way and
get my brush wet!
It was so much fun coloring this with Arteza Twi-markers.
After coloring the image, I usually do a wash with blue re-inker. Since Color Hues
wants us to use just the two colors and any neutrals the blue was out.

Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I was able to get two for one with this pressing of Spellbinders'
Flutter Into Spring.
When I pressed it I placed the sentiment in what turned out to be an awkward place.
I went ahead and colored the images using my Arteza Twi-markers. I was so pleased with
the way these markers worked on the Betterpress paper.
I die cut the panel bypassing the hummingbird and sentiment.
The dots are Nuvo Crystal drops and the design is placed on an embossed background.
Since the hummingbird was all colored, he needed to be put on a card to ..read more

Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I had so much fun coloring this card!
A sweet friend sent me some pressings from her Betterpress collection and I have been
squeezing in a few minutes every day to color. This time I colored with Zigs.
I hadn't used them for a long time.
The color really soaks into this paper which is a good thing for rich color,
not so good for lighter colors. So I swiped some on my palette and picked up
the color with my waterbrush for the lighter shades.
I wondered if my mini slimline dies would fit in the sentiment space and was

Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
Time to turn the page on our calendars to a new month.
I make calendars each year for my desk and my family.
I thought I'd set up a regular post on the first day of each month to share them.
I hope you enjoy my “Turning the Page” posts.
Here's our April page using Impression Obsession Three Little birds
colored with Copics.
By the way, the calendars 4 ½ x 7 inches and and can be displayed on an easel
or hung on a push pin or magnetic hook. We all have a different way to display them.
