The Cariboo Regional District has been informed that the integrated library system (Sitka) of the Cariboo Regional District Library Network was recently impacted by a data breach.
On April 25, 2024, our ILS (integrated library system) provider, the BC Libraries Cooperative, (the Co-op) notified us that they had experienced a security incident. The data breach impacted users of several library networks which use the ILS system, operated by a third-party service provider. The Evacuation Alert issued on April 21, 2024 at 7:45 p.m. for the Burgess Creek Area has been lifted by the Cariboo Regional District Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).
An Evacuation Alert or Order may need to be reissued if it is deemed necessary. Residents must be prepared if the area receives a future evacuation order or alert on short notice.
