A MOTHER’S LAMENT WITH KITTIES BLUE
The Cat On My Head
by Janet Blue

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday Teddy and Angel Sammy from Two Spoiled Cats provided us with another photo of a chaotic family scene for our inspiration photo this week. If the original wasn’t crazy enough, I decided to add some of the Kitties Blue (Sawyer, Lisbeth and Audrey nibbling the Goldfish crackers on the carpet). Unfortunately, they didn’t make it into the poem, which I am not particularly happy with. Here’s the photo followed by my poem.     A Mother’s Lament Life as parents can be stressful and tough. When it comes to sleep, we never get enough. Two kids were supposed to be ea ..read more

ENDINGS & NEW BEGINNINGS
The Cat On My Head

Sparks     My Spark today came about due to my thinking about beloved friends and animals who have recently passed from my life. That lump and the tell-tale tail belong to Kizmet. She loves being underneath blankets, bedspreads, pillows, comforters and afghans. She can sleep for hours completely covered up. Kizmet is constantly unmaking our bed to create a napping spot, which she did again yesterday. Endings and tails seemed to go together. Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. It began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I bel ..read more

The Cat On My Head

Sunday Selfies: Week #501     Audrey has some pretty amazing green eyes, but she looks so serious. She has a cute little face but whenever she snaps a selfie, she gets the most earnest expression on her face. I always think it makes her look a wee bid sad. Regardless, she’s hoping you like her selfie. Hopping Time Audrey invites you to participate in our selfie hop. There are absolutely tons of adorable animals on social media, and we know you are one of them. So, please put on your best smile and join us. Audrey and the rest of the Kitties Blue, as well as all your other friends, c ..read more

YAWNING TABBY ART
The Cat On My Head
by Janet Blue

Caturday Tabby Art I didn’t have a new photo of any of the kitties that was suitable for art, so the one I have selected is from March 3, 2018. The photo of grey tabby, Sawyer, yawning was taken on the catio and very washed out. However, I did share the original photo at the time. You can find it on the post, “Sawyer’s Sleepy Selfie” if you are interested. (Sawyer was just eight months old at the time.)     To create the art, I used the Stormy Sunset effect with analog coloring from the Painnt app. To that I added the Abstract filter from piZap at 50 percent. The frame is from the f ..read more

CHILD’S PLAY/MOM’S DISMAY & THANKFULS
The Cat On My Head

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday Angel Sammy and Teddy from Two Spoiled Cats provided another hysterical photo for this week’s poetry challenge.     If I was the mom of these two, I wouldn’t even know where to begin to try to clean them up. My poem is a conversation between the little blonde girl and the mom in alternating stanzas. The child is speaking first. Child’s Play/Mom’s Dismay Mommy, look I’m an artist! I’ve decorated my little sis. I think she looks so beautiful. Oh no, that ink is unremovable! What could you have been thinking? I swear I might start drinking. What’s wrong, don ..read more

THE ADVENTURES OF PERIWINKLE & STINKY: PART CCXXVIII
The Cat On My Head
by Janet Blue

Where to Go and What to Do? Stinky had been wringing his paws for several days trying to come up with an idea for his adventure with Periwinkle. He read that today is National Backyard Day, but he knew he didn’t want to go outside to pull weeds with his mom, and he was pretty certain Periwinkle would not have a good time doing that. They had helped his Mom do some spring planting in Adventure 83,”Playing In the Dirt,” but that was fun! When Stinky discovered it was the anniversary of the opening on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, he knew that’s what they had to do. His dad had been to Sydney and co ..read more

AN AWWWDORABLE ANGEL WITTH A SPARK
The Cat On My Head

Awww Monday/Sparks I have combined these two Monday posts by using a photo from May 31, 2016, of Lily Olivia for my Spark. I believe you will see why I selected her for the Spark. If not, it is because she’s one of our angels and my Spark is about angels. With the loss of ao many kitties lately, our friend Jean and one of Dad Tom’s cousins as well as the wife of a friend who passed in August, I have had angels on my mind.     Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are ..read more

Sunday Selfies: Week #500     Hi Friends, I am here as your host today for a special post. The reason being is that it is Saint Patrick’s Day, and my name is Cooper Murphy. One cannot get more Irish than that. It is also a special Sunday as this is the 500th Sunday Selfies blog hop. But mainly I am here as this a  tribute post to our dear friend, Jean Neilson, and I have a special connection to her. Her kitty, Tyebe, is my girl friend. I do apologize for my eyes being closed. I was, of course, dreaming about Tyebe. Jean Neilson – 1950 to 2024 Bill, Jean’s amazing husband of mor ..read more
