Finnish tech company Steerprop has been chosen to provide a comprehensive Polar Class 4 (PC 4) propulsion package for the Canadian Coast Guard’s multi-purpose vessels (MPVs). Steerprop The contract entails the supply of propulsion packages for the initial six MPVs, integral to Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS). The vessels are being built by Seaspan Shipyards. On April 22, 2024, Singapore’s fourth submarine in the Type 218SG construction program (Invincible-class) was launched at the thyssenkrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) shipyard in Kiel.  TKMS As informed, the shipbuilder also held a naming ceremony for the submarine. South Korean shipbuilder HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), a division of shipbuilding giant HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), has signed a contract to build four warships for the Peruvian Navy with local shipyard SIMA. As informed, the company will build one 3,400-ton frigate, one 2,200-ton offshore patrol vessel and two 1,400-ton amphibious warfare ships.
